Normal Crazy Ivan is an American IPA fermented with a Trappist ale yeast. Team Bear then doubled down and let this version referment for over 18 months with only wild yeast and bacteria native to the Alexander Valley. In our weirdo Left Coast talk, it is even "more crazier".

dingadingdangdong!!! had this as a "nightcap" after the dipa fest at the bistro. they replaced the burton baton when it blew with this, and lucky me! if this is what is to come from BR dabbeling with barrel aging, i'm excited. this just about held it's own to Rodenbach Grand Cru! assertive but not overdone sourness, with a matching sweet cherry tartness and crazy complexity. great beer!!

Tasted at the 5th Annual Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Fest on 11/13/2010. This sour ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, tart and funky. A medium bodied sour ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and floral. Nice carbonation. Lots of tartness, lots of sweetness, balanced very nicely. Not so much an IPA anymore the hops flavors are muted and in the background. Nice sour beer though. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart.
