This beer is a 0 or a 10 there is no two ways about it, the bottle recommends serving warm, or even mulling with star anise and cardomon. We tried cold, room temperature and warm. Cold it was difficult to drink, excessively alcoholic, overbearing liquorice dominated. Warm the alcohol took over and was remisecent of 40 year old sugar liquor, syrup, oily taste and texture. And contrary to what one might imagine, heating resulted in fantastic results. Heating brought out a floral note to the liquorice taste and smell. The alcohol was balanced by a sweetness not noticed before. An exellent substitute for warm apple cider and mulled wine. IF YOU SEE THIS BEER, BUY IT!
