Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7
11.2oz bottle pours with a slightly murky brown mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up an inviting earthy peat note as well as softer sweet fig and faint molasses to crystal malts. The taste delivers straight up tasty Islay Scotch goodness with earthy peat, spicy oak and booze and then a bit of earthy smokiness. To midway and into the finish murmurs of fig, date and faint sweet molasses can be heard under the roar of the barrel treatment. This one can use more balance with being pulled from the barrel with less contact time. Tasty but it lacks the balance needed to be a top notch sipper.
