Bottle pours with a dark brown mahogany colored body that supports a lasting thin ring of tan foam. The aroma offers up raisins, toffee and molasses bleeding into a thin curtain of boozy bourbon. The taste delivers smooth slick sweet reduced molasses like sugars mingling with dates and raisin like sweet dark fruity esters. To midway the soft supple sweet barrel character emerges with notes of sweet soft candy like bourbon up against the thin sting of booze. This beer offers pleasing depth, balance and breadth of flavor.
