Skunked, skunked, skunked. Did I mention it wa skunked? Man, this beer has fallen big time. It used to be a premium lager, now it's just pig-swill. It poured out ok enough, with a darker shade of pale yellow, almost a golden color, with a short-lived white head. It smelled strongly of cheesy hops, over the hill malts, and rotten corn. Literally stinks from being skunked so badly. I'm glad I quit drinking this beer regularly years ago, because it's just plain awful nowadays. I guess you can't go home again.

Thin, watery, bland best describe this beer from Moosedrool. I had this beer in Canada while visiting friends last summer. I wouldn't normally turn down a free beer, but that's exactly what I should have done. It was another skunked moose beer as far as I'm concerned. Poured out a whiteish yellow color, with not much head at all. Smelled of cheap 6-row grain, and corn adjuncts. Something akin to Karo syrup poured on buckwheat pancakes is what it smelled like to me. The aroma was much better than the taste of this bilge water. It didn't have much in the way of body, being thin and weak. Hoppiness was more bitter and unbalanced than anything. I'm sure glas I didn't have to buy this stuff, because I would have demanded my money back, and it would have made me the ugly American.

I remember when this beer came in blue cans. That's how long ago I first saw it. Anyway, back to the beer. It tastes the same as Schaefer, and I mean exactly like it. Same fizzy taste, same corn in a field smell, same metallic tastes to it also. Same as it ever was. No aromas of hops either. This is not your father's Schmidts beer folks. Now that you know, know better.

Smells of burnt corn and even more burned rice. No malt aroma to speak of. Not much in the way of hops, either. Pretty much, a bland, boring beer. Pours out the typical American standard yellow, pale and transparent also. Thin body, not much balance in this beer. I've had better beers by far. Aromas of fruit in it for some reason, like rotten bananas, and maybe stale figs. Weird for a macro swill. I won't be going out of my way to buy this beer again, that's for sure. Good thing I only bought one to try, huh?

Not much to say here. Wasn't a very good beer in my book. Not balanced at all, probably used Nugget hops to bitter it, and nothing else. My bottle was skunked, stale tasting, and just plain bad all around. I didn't even pour it in a glass, because who wants to wash a glass after having a terrible beer in it? Not much in the way of body, that's for sure. Thin and watery, not much maltiness in it either. Extremely un-balanced in my book. Find better out there, gang.
