Popped open and a loud phhssss! sound came out. I picked it up to smell and got a wiff of plum candy seeping out. Poured a clear brown head with a nice body already forming as it was poured. Lots of legs, formed a nice star on top. Aroma: black plums, currants, chocolate, sligh cherry and raisin - Fantastic aroma. First taste: Very Flavorfull. Nice carbonation with plums and cherry being present. Pretty sweet but not overly sweet. Very smooth, very balanced. The alcohol is barely noticable - I had to stop myself from chugging it, thats how good it tastes. Sweet aftertaste. The flavor seemed to dance on my tongue. I could easily drink this everyday.

Wow! Great Doublebock. Well balanced malt. Aroma is unmistakable. First wiff tells the brain that this is a great beer. Smooth. Really smooth. A comforting medium palate. One of the best doublebocks I’ve ever tasted. You gotta try it to believe it. Kudos!

2006 Bottle. I was a little disappointed in the aroma. Good but not as good as I would thought it too have been. Appearance is awesome! This is what I like to see. Very, Very dark, Chocolate dark, Dark as night dark. Very nice head to it and it stays till the end. Flavor is good at first, but gets good with each sip. Honestly this beer really did get better with every sip. It is very drinkable and makes your mouth tell your hand to keep on grabbing the snifter to feed it to it. This would be perfect for mid January. Awesome brew that I think is worth the price. Re-rate: After tasting this many times since, I’ve found out that this is the perfect night time beer and rivals my favorite stout. I’m becomming addicted to this beer.

Sampled June 2006: Draft on the Hand Pump!!! WOW!!! This my be one of the all time best Imperial stouts I’ve ever had! The aroma makes a great first impression. Very mellow scent with a pleasant malt appearance. The look is fanatastic in a snifter. Very gracious head that stays until near the end. Very dark, awesome looking. Flavor is not bursting with flavor but mild and Extremely Pleasant! This is like tranquility in a snifter. Very peaceful with a perfect balance of malt and low bitterness. I think this is the best brew that I’ve had from Charlie at Otto’s. At this rate he will need to bottle these fine brews to rival the other heaveyweights. Triple Cheers!!!

Bottle. Strong sour, oak smell with a cloudy body and decent size head resting on top. Great blend of flavors of oak and slight lemon taste. Very smooth and great aftertaste. Cheers!
