A dark vinous beer which has a good coffee coloured head in draught form and a complexity and subtlety which seem almost absent from the bottled version. A smooth coffee and dried fruit taste, well balanced by a good hop rate, make this one of my favourite dark beers.

Lots of condition, a traditional IPA with a bronze colour and a clean hoppy flavour , on the palate, doesn't drink it's strength, slips down all to easily.

A very good looking 'red' beer. Not especially hoppy, but well balanced, a bit short on the finish I thought, but well put together. The appearance promises a lot, but nothing memorable on the nose or palate.

Roast chocolate malt and a good hop balance have won numerous awards for this classic english mild. If you haven't got on with mild before try this - it's the real thing, owing nothing to caramel additives. It has a good dry mouth feel, bursting with flavour.

A brilliant session bitter, very hoppy, with a kind of trademark seaweed taste. The only hops used are traditional english varieties, and if this was a wine it would be Pouilly fume' - believe me it is DRY. It's also very moreish. It's widely available outside the breweries trading area, but rarely hits the heights detailed above outside of an Adnams pub unfortunately. On song, it's probably one of the 'top three' english bitters.
