Wow, this is impressive. My only complaint about this one is the lack of any lasting head (although this may be due to the fact that I rinsed my glass before pouring this one). Beige colored head while it lasted. Pours a completely opaque, deep, almost black, dark brown. Smell and flavor is rather complex consisting of coffee, malt, smoke, molasses and milk chocolate (adding a bit of sweetness). Mouthfeel is creamy with a definite alcohol aftertaste. I want to keep drinking this one to see if its real.

Poured a clear golden from the bottle. No lasting head, but nice lacing consisting of very small white bubbles. Very little aroma, thus my "not impressive" rating. Another beer where I notice suspended bottles in my glass (not due to condensation, because it is in the beer). I would think it is like gelatin, except I see other bubbles floating to the top of the glass around the suspended particles. My initial sip made me grimace, because it tasted a bit skunky however this subsided as I kept drinking. I live within 20 miles of the brewery and I purchased this at a reputable store, so I'm kinda perplexed. I could taste some mellow malt flavor and hop bitterness. This beer has a good body, not weak at all. As I kept drinking, I did not detect anymore skunkiness. I'd love to try this one again to see if I get the same initial shock of flavor.

Poured a cloudy yellow from the bottle. No lasting head, but nice lacing and good amount of carbonation throughout the pour. Not to gross anyone out, but this is not a golden beer, it is a yellow beer - the color of urine. It almost appears as though there are suspended bubbles in my glass. I'm drinking from a clear glass and I've wiped away the condensation and it is definitely in the beer. Muted aroma of wheat. Taste is smooth and mellow. Touch of carbonation crispness. Not watery as many wits are. Very nice offering. I anticipate purchasing more of this.

Never had a scotch ale before, but I like this one! Strong, malty flavor with good, hoppy, bitter aftertaste. Nice, creamy, off-white, lasting head and good lacing.

Don't have great expectations about this beer and you won't be disappointed. I actually like the flavor of this macro brew much better than many American counterparts. It's sweeter. It has an astringency that I find appealing. The body is light, watery and the aroma dwindles great deal when the fizzy head diminishes. Great for a refreshing break from yard work.
