Hazy nutbrownish yellow colour (strange mix of those) with huge off white creamy, longlasting head. Lacing beatifully. Aroma is flowers, fruits, yeast and some bready hints. Flavour is nutty, fruity, buttery, caramellish and alcoholic. Just a lovely mix, though the alcohol does mess the whole thing up a bit. But just lovely to drink, very easy-to-drink. Good session beer. And though the slight unbalance due to alcohol, just lovely! I need more of this!

cloudy dark orange colour, persistant little head and a nice lace; aroma of tangerines and oranges; respectable malt body, strong bitterness and a long, very dry fruity and bready finish - a beautiful beer full of character

Bottle, at Haket, Göteborg. Cloudy pale golden colour, low head. Strange fruity aroma with notes of anthill, leather and flowers. Sweetish flavour with strong notes of leather and oak.

Pours with a gigantic and thick foamy head. A light cloudy gold color to the body. Aroma is funky lemon peels and some barnyard. A little hint of leathery goodness. The taste has sweet caramel and peanut butter. Some hints of oranges and vanilla in the aftertaste. This is very nice and light. A little too carbonated.

Pours with a substantial head, a unique color, and a definite lack of clarity - which for this type of brew is a good thing. That color is a golden to almost light orange (not blonde) with what kind of resembles a suspended gray peeking through. The flavor is somewhat dry and malty, and the old familiar Belgian suggestion of clove-like spices is in the mix. I spent more time examining the appearance of this one than any other quality. I must admit I only had a few gulps, but I think that was enough to get the picture. Good stuff.

I figured I'd better try the Loterbol Blond while I had the chance, since I had the Brune, and it was available at the Sharp Edge as well. As with the Brune, the Blond has a foamy head from the bottle, only its color is white like Duvel, and not as thick. An inch of lacing is left around the glass as the head melts. The body is dark yellow to foggy gold. The same aromas as the Loterbol Brune exist in the Blond. Light caramel scents waft from the glass. Smooth caramel tastes blend with the light malty notes. Hops do not play much of a role with these Belgian ales. The aftertaste is very light. This is a lovely Belgian blond ale. I would order Loterbol’s ales again for sure.
