Old school version of an IPA. Still balanced; not a ‘one trick pony’ pale. Named after the country song “It’s hard to kiss the lips at night that chew your ass out all day long.

Not much to say here. malt is one dimensional. Hops are one dimensional. No yeast flavor. So it's bitter but not too bitter and forgetable. I considered dumping it out but didn't hoping it would be better as it warmed up. It didnt.

Sampled from bottle. Thanks again, Phishpond. Pours copper-gold with a slight haze. Not much of a head. Great citrus and pine aroma with a hint of sweet malt. Nice. Fruity, piney hop flavor. Lovin' it.

Not a bad beer overall...not good either...not what I would call an IPA at all. Pours and looks like an IPA but it doesn't smell or taste like one. Smell is ever so slightly pine, good mouthfeel, tastes of resin, a hint of grapefruit, and stale grassy malts. A cheap beer in a micro label.

Poured to a cloudy golden color with what i call floaties dancing around in it. The smell was of wet hops and malt. The flavor was a nice grapefruit flavoring. The bubble were plenty but were light and helped this be a refreshing IPA. Nice beer.

Thanks to phishpond for another Wisconsin brew - this one pours a bit hazy coppery amber with a good white head and lots of lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of citrus-grapefruit hops and slightly sweet malts. Taste is easy and mild for an IPA with a medium grapefruit hops and fruity presence followed by more-than-adequate sweetness from the malts. This is an easy to drink IPA. Thanks Travis.

I had a chance to talk about this beer with brewmaster Tom Porter while sampling it at a Madison showing of the "99 Botles Documentary". He confirmed that the name indeed was inspired by the country song "It's Hard To Kiss The Lips At Night That Chew Your Ass Out All Day Long". It sounded like there was more to the story, but we left it at that. Not too hard to kiss these lips, as it's a very approachable beer. Poured a cloudy golden-orange color with some fine particulates and a moderate-sized foamy white head. Robust spicy grapefruit aroma that belies the smooth and somewhat thin palate. Mild, soft flavors of light malt and fruity hops. Smooth citrusy and lightly-bitter finish. Reserved, easy-going, satisfying. MUSIC: Duh...... The Notorious Cherry Bombs (vocal: Rodney Crowell & Vince Gill)

Pours a semi-cloudy orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is strong of fresh stinky hops, over ripe grapefruit, lemon and cracked black pepper. Taste is full, mildly acidic and fruity, well hopped and citrusy. Tastey all around.
