Lagers are bottom-fermented at lower temperatures than ales, resulting in clear, bright beers. IBC's Black Lager features rich coffee flavors with a smooth, long finish. It's dark in color but a light bodied beer, and is brewed with Tettnang Hops, a noble hop commonly used in European lagers. Roast German barley, partially de-husked to reduce tannins, is combined with Caramunich malt for added body. Pairs well with seafood and hot, spicy foods. A very nice beer, easy drinking. Mine was had on draught but not hardly black, just a nice clear brown. It tastes like a true mild stout, however, they lager it to smooth out the mouthfeel. An interesting touch, but it almost made it seem too light or watery. Other than that, very roasty and certainly tastes good.
