A deep amber colored American ale, featuring a rich malty body. Cascade and Willamette hops add a complex hop flavor and aroma. This ale is exceptionally balanced between malty sweetness and delicate hop bitterness.

Pours a deep red/amber color with an off-white head that is smallish in height. Leaves a fine coating of lace on the glass. The aroma is a little on the sweet/malty side. Nice medium mouthfeel with good balance and complexity. Nice hoppy/bitter finish to the beer. Good stuff. Ill but it again, and again, and again, etc.

Okay this is my fourth beer tonight so this may not be a fair rating. It's got zero head with no head. The color is amber with no bubbles.there is no noticeable aroma. And it's not bitter but has no real flavor. Must try as my first beer of the night.

I thought I had this a few years ago, but didn't review. Just sampled a single to be sure. Better than the average amber. Has some semi-hoppy pale ale flavors. Decent feel. Wouldn't go out of my way for this, but I'd consider again as a seasonal.

Deep ruddy clear color with a very persistent quarter inch head. Sweet toast aroma with citrus & grass. Caramel & grapefruit flavor, toasty malt balancing mild hops: blending more than juxtaposed. Big, solid, if simple flavor without feeling heavy, making it good with food. Smooth & easy drinking.

A dark, coppery-amber color with a dense, ivory head that hung around a while and left a fair amount of lacing. Aroma is nutty and malty, with a faint hint of hops. The sweetly malty flavor was neatly balanced against the hops, but the hoppiness was just slightly dominant. Nice work!

My first brew from Highland courtesy of Mr Blue Lou .. . pours a dark tan, medium foam .. . nice assertive dose of hops to go with the fresh brown bread malt and light diet molasses .. . one of the nicest ambers around! .. . ramsey is a crazy bugger and my back still hurts!..

Purchased in Nashville on my trip there. Pours a clean copper colour with a beautiful creamy beige head that has great retention and lacing. Hardly any carbonation. Full aromas of dark fruits (dates, raisins), malts (caramel, roasted) and nuts (hazelnuts, almonds). Crisp refreshing mouthfeel and medium-bodied. The hops shows up in the taste (not too bitter) but more flavourful. Nutty, caramel, roasted, bready and buttery (but all in a soft way). A really nice easy-drinking amber ale that has a great full nose.

A really nice medium-bodied Irish ale. Pours the requisite amber color with a nice foamy white head. Nice lacing to the end. Excellent balance of hops and malt make the flavor truly outstanding.

A couple bottles were shared amongst some friends. Fairly hearty amber with some depth. Malty aroma that is sweet coupled with a hint of toast and caramel. Rich amber body with a 1/2" off white head and sticky looking lacing. Medium to light bodied, balanced toward the sweeter side. Baked goods, nutty and a touch of earthy peat. Tasty southern brew.

Picked this up in Raleigh a while just before a Hurricanes game. I thought the colour was a bit light for an amber ale, more of a light amber in this case. The hoppy aroma was offset by a little bit of malt and some apple. The taste was refreshing, but not outstanding. Still malty, but a little bit of everything else trying to come through.

Another brewery comes to South Florida. What an explosion of craft brews to look forward to in the months ahead. The package, rustic tartan and colorful was the attraction. On pour a bright amber colored ale. A moderate off white head, frothy in texture had some decent hang time, settling eventually into some nice lacing. Hops and spice dominated the aroma. A nice blending of sweet malts and citrusy hops. The body is moderate. No offensive carbonation and lots of smoothness make this a very drinkable ale. There is more from Highland to try when I make my future beer runs.
