An English style pale ale make with English Maris Otter malt, English crystal malt ans ome flaked barley for mouthfeel. I used English Fuggle and East Kent Goldings hops both in the kettle and serving tank. This ale is fined instead of filtered (Cask style) and served with nitrogen and low CO2. The typical British pale ales have balanced malt vs. hop character, and in spite of the common name "bitter," are not as bitter as some other styles. American Pale Ales, IPA's and Pilsners are often more bitter. This ale is a drinkable beer due to the low CO2 level, and the nitrogen dispense lends a texture and foam similar to a pint pulled from beer engine (as would be found in a true British pub).
