Nobody can pass up a good IPA, even the great Preserver. This orange/gold ale gives off a pungent floral, grassy, citrus-like, aroma that invites you to take a sip.The blast of four American hops (Amarillo, Summit, Centennial, and Simcoe) is balanced by the full-bodied sweetness of the malt and the higher than normal alcohol.

Since New Year's Eve, 2008 has been the year of the IPA for me. First off, I'm not sure if this is an Imperial IPA. The ABV is quite high and I made that assumption when I added this, which is might be incorrect. But anyway, this is one hell of an IPA. It pours a dark, copper color with nice off white foam which sticks around for a while. It smells of pine, citrus and flowers. The taste is perfectly balanced. The pine, citrus and flowers are augmented by a nice caramel and malt finish which, to me, sets this one apart from the pack. It is an incredibly complex beer. This is another seasonal beer from Flossmoor and I've been lucky enough to be able to bring home growlers from the bar on a regular basis knowing that it has a limited life. But I'm hoping that it's successor, just as is predecessors were, will be equally as good.
