Florida Beer Company annouces the release of another lager in their line. According to FBC Brand Ambassador Tom Barris, “Since we are predominately a craft lager brewery we are brewing towards our strengths and have made an exceptional German-Style Pilsner.” Description: Florida Beer Company’s Sunshine State Pils is being brewed in the style of a Northern German Pils. These beers tend to have a higher more aggressive bitterness, slight mineral characteristic and very light body that can be described as clean, crisp and leaving a pleasant hop bitterness lingering on the palate. Between the use of German noble hops and our extra pale pils malt one can expected a light, approachable craft pilsner that is perfect for the Florida spring and summer seasons.

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6

Pours clear, bubbly straw yellow with a thick and rather persistent creamy white head that pillows. Crisp, malty aroma is quite strong and has a hoppy hint. Flavor is crisp and refreshing, not complex but one does not expect complexity from a pilsner. It sure takes the edge off a Georgia (or Florida) scorcher! Texture is thin and not very fizzy, but when the mouthfeel is a beer’s weakest feature, big fat hoppy deal. Come to the Florida pilsner tree!

A clear yellow colored beer with a big frothy textured, white head that has some limited hang time. A thin ringlet is left. n nose and tasting the profile is pretty basic. Grassy hops and a backbone of biscuit malt. Light, crisp and refreshing.
