Barleywine-style Ale? These brews are usually only wine-like in alcoholic content, they are all beer. In fact they are biggest baddest brews in the Pale Ale family. Malt flavors, hop bitterness and aroma, yeasty esters, everything has been turned up to ‘11’. Our Numb Comfort is the continuation of the American interpretation of the style originally of British origin. We fill the mash tun to the top with four of our favorite malts, then dose it with enough of our favorite resinous, piney and fruity hops to balance. English Ale yeast takes it from there. But we’re not done yet! We then age a portion of this flavorful ale in oak whiskey barrels to drive the complexity past the horizon.

Pours slightly hazy copper with a thin pale buff head. Aroma delivers a strong, sharp fruity note of pomme and cherry plus a malty hint. Flavor features fruity, cherry, berry and malty tones. Body and fizz are about average. Get comfortably numb - but if you get too numb, please call a cab or contact Uber or Lyft.
