Brassée pour le Bistro Cabaret La Flacatoune situé sur la plage de Saint-Irénée, dans Charlevoix, elle ne devait être qu’un brassin inédit et exclusif pour le restaurant. La Flacatoune est une blonde belge forte, à 7% d’alcool, brassée par Microbrasserie Charlevoix à Baie-Saint-Paul depuis 2009. Blonde dorée, elle est chapeautée d’une mousse blanche et crémeuse. Au nez, on reconnaît le fruité typique et intense des levures belges d’abbaye, ainsi que la présence de houblons aromatiques. En bouche, elle est d’abord fruitée et épicée, et tranquillement envahie par une sécheresse aux notes de houblons poivrés, citronnés et floraux qui lui confèrent un caractère des plus rafraîchissants.

Single bottle from a local IGA. The nose is quite yeasty. Pours a clear golden colour with a creamy, slightly warm head with great retention and loads of fluffy lace. The yeast does calm down, to smell like normal Belgian Ale yeast with notes of apples. Smooth mouthfeel, a little oily, a little creamy and a little tarty. Well-balanced between the mild grassy hops, the Belgian Ale yeast and some light fruitiness from the hints of apples and citrus. A nice representation of the style.
