Belgian-Style Imperial Stout Crossing a traditional Russian Imperial Stout with a Belgian-style yeast strain produces an unprecedented spicy, roasted aroma reminiscent of chocolate and anise. An aggressive hop backbone complements intense notes of coffee.

Pours a viscous black, light barely penetrates the edges. Cap is thin, creamy, and brown. Lacing is minimal. Aroma is all Belgian yeast with coffee, licorice, and chocolate as well. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. Taste is weak with flavors of coffee, yeast, and grains.

absolutely beautiful beer...dark as night with a big dense cocoa colored head. flavor are feel are intensely dry. Yeast is prominent, though heavy roast and dark fruit also come through. Solid Belgian Imperial.

22 oz bottle. Pours inky black with a medium creamy tan head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet grainy chocolate malts, dark fruit, and some bourbony alcohol.

The flavor is sweet roasted chocolate malts, tart dark fruits, some black licorice and a roasted bitter finish with some bourbony alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with creamy carbonation.

Overall, a decent imperial stout. All the roast kind of clashed with the sweet, slightly tart, fruit.
