Hardywood Bourbon DIPA is hopped with a heavy dose of Columbus, Cascade and Summit hops, fermented with an abbey ale yeast that imparts some subtle tropical fruit and peppery notes and conditioned twelve weeks in freshly emptied Virginia bourbon barrels from the A. Smith Bowman Distillery, where earthy, vanilla, toffee and bourbon notes lend an exquisite mellowness to Bourbon DIPA. Best with: The rich flavors of Hardywood Bourbon DIPA pair beautifully with equally rich foods, including aged sharp cheddar, game birds such as dove and quail in savory sauce, spicy grilled sausages, and roast pork tenderloin.

Sampled with KnoxBeerCrew. Dark gold pour, low white head, nice lacing. Bourbon whiskey aroma upfront, mild but very inviting, earthy and fruity hops, some mango and peaches, more Bourbon, vanilla, toffee and caramel, more hops... Taste is Bad Ass! - Bourbon vanilla goodness underlying in a rich hoppy tropical fruit bitter ballsy IPA that beckons for your mouth so it can pour itself down your freakin' throat and enjoy its goodness. This is a really fine brew crafted from a promising upstart brewery - I WILL look for more of Hardywood's offerings. FoamDome, paging FoamDoam,... these are in you neck of the woods. You need to try some Hardywood and report. STAT.
