On September 25, 1951, Hélène and René Léger opened their first rotisserie on St-Hubert Street in Montreal. This was the beginning of what was to become Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert Ltée. It is because of these true pioneers and their innovative ideas, that the chain today is the pride of Quebec restaurant business. It is to mark their successful achievement that Unibroue has creates this unique beer: the St-Hubert. No longer available.

Bottle: Poured a hazy deep beige color ale with a nice foamy head with great retention. Aroma of coriander is well balance with the typical Unibroue yeast and good Belgian malt. Taste is also quite heavy on the coriander with some great spices and yeasty finish. I know this is probably a mix between Blanche de Chambly and Fin du Monde but I thought the mix was particularly well done in this case.

Had this one at the St. Hubert restaurant on Maisonneuve in Hull, Quebec. Poured a cloudy golden-beige colour with a medium white head. The retention was pretty short and some slight lace was left. The nose is spicy with some of the normal Unibroue yeast scent. Also, notes of fruits and maple syrup. Medium-thin mouthfeel. The taste is lightly spicy with a smooth finish. The spices are always present in the back of the palate. A very nicely brewed beer that has enough alcohol content to satisfy the Belgian ale lovers, but light enough in taste to go with pretty much anything on the menu. Quite refreshing.
