The aroma is tropical fruit (pineapple, mango), fresh cut grass, and yeast. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was similar to the aroma with some tartness in the fruit flavours. Quite aromatic and flavourful. |

1102 | Exchange Brewery No.10 Double IPA | Canada | Imperial IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 13oz draught
8.50% ABV
WVRST – Union Station (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
December 21, 2018
$9.61
The beer poured a hazed light amber colour with a 3cm thick snow white head. The aroma was citrusy hops, mild tropical fruit notes, cereal grains, and pine needles. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was very citrusy, reminiscent of the old style DIPAs before the tropical hop craze kicked in. Also had flavours of weak yeast and grass. It wasn’t as bitter as I would have hoped for, but the thought was there. |

The aroma is citrus hops, grainy malt, light pine resin, and some caramel notes. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour has strong notes of grapefruit, caramel, grassy malt, and finished bitter. My kind of Imperial IPA after all these tropical wimpy wannabees from the last few years! |

The aroma is very hoppy with notes of pine and citrus, followed by honey, yeast, and grains. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is citrusy hops, notes of burnt sugar/caramel, grains, and hints of yeast and honey. An interesting beer. Not very tripel like and not very IIPA like. Yet still enjoyable. |

1105 | Flying Monkeys Sparklepuff | Canada | Imperial IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 473ml can
10.2% ABV
Canned On: March 21, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
April 12, 2019
$4.95
This is a chunky pour. The colour is medium gold, more murky than hazy, with a huge white head which recedes to a creamy film. The aroma is very peachy with notes of grass, light spices, and tropical fruits. The mouthfeel is full bodied with average carbonation. The first thing I taste is alcohol, followed by bitter citrus ring, grass, and finally the peaches come through in the finish. I want to like it, but the alcohol bitterness is hanging around too long. |

The aroma is pine, grapefruit, cereal, and some mustiness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is well balanced between the citrusy grapefruit and malty caramel notes, and has a bitter finish. There is also an alcohol warminf effect as this beer goes down the hatch. Well done in my opinion. |
