2276 | Molson Golden | Canada | Pale Lager | 2.2
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 April 1, 1987
Gift
341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
$0.00
I tried this beer during the 1980s when they launched a large Canadian campaign to get beer drinkers drinking Golden again. The campaign did nothing more than make fun of the beer's name (Moslen Godlen, Molden Golson, etc). This was also the brand featured on all The Molson's commercials. Sadly, this beer is no longer part of Molson Canada's lineup (as per their website). Anyway, the last time I tried this, the beer was golden in colour with almost no head. The aroma was weak with a grassy tinge to it. It was very crisp and clear on the tongue with weak carbonation. The taste was also weak, not watery, but not very beer-y either. It eventually went on to be associated with 'Old Man's beer' along with Labatt 50. I would give a better rating, but the beer was just not that memorable. Not bad, but not worth a second taste. |

2277 | Steam Whistle Pilsner | Canada | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.2
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 September 30, 2006
Gift
341ml bottle
5.00% ABV
$0.00
Well, I'm not sure what to say about this beer. I was introduced to this beer by a friend who brought it to our 20th anniversary hockey pool. There was very little aroma in my opinion and very little flavour. The colour was a very weak translucent yellow. What little aroma there was slightly grassy. The mouthfeel was slightly watery, but with enough carbonation to save it. The taste was very weak in my opinion for a beer labelled as a pilsener. Working a short distance from the brewery itself (the old roundhouse at Toronto's Union Station houses the brewery today) and having watched it being built I was excited to try this beer. Needless to say the lack of aroma and flavour were very disappointing. |

2278 | Molson Export Ale | Canada | Blonde Ale | 2.2
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 January 15, 1987 ,br> Brass Taps (Guelph, Ontario, Canada – University of Guelph, University Centre)
300ml draught
5.0%
$1.50
Not a very good beer in my opinion. It pours a deep gold colour with a bubbly head. The colour is still translucent but certainly darker than Moslon Canadian and Fosters. The head barely lasts 30 seconds. The aroma isn't anything to write home about, in fact, it is very skunky at best. It is very harsh on the tongue with a lot of carbonation. The taste is a bit harsh too, too much bitterness mixed in with a burnt malty taste. It didn't smell all that great, didn't taste all that great, and was not an instant favourite. At least it looked like beer. But not one I would recommend to friends or beer lovers anywhere.

June 28, 2007
Hard Rock Café (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – 1 Blue Jays Way)
341ml bottle
4.9% ABV
$6.65
This beer poured a translucent golden brown with a thin white head that quickly dissipated to lacing. The aroma was sickly grassy malt, with a touch of hops. The mouthfeel was thin bodied, almost watery, and highly carbonated. The flavour was very grainy, with some weak hoppish tones. |

2279 | Molson Canadian | Canada | Pale Lager | 2.2
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 April 9. 2022
LCBO Outlet #649 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Sobey’s Plaza)
473ml can
5.0% ABV
Canned On: January 10, 2022
$2.70
The beer pours a translucent gold colour with a generous white head which lasts a while before receding to a thin film on top. Lacing is generous. The aroma is bready malts, yeast, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt and light bitter hops. Original score upgraded a bit.

original review
341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
Molson Canadian, what beer's all about. Or so the commercials said. This was the first beer I ever tried. It is an alright beer to grow your chops on. This beer is a golden colour with a white head that lasts a while. It has a smell of malt and corn. It has a decent taste replete with a strong aftertaste. It has a very crisp mouthfeel with the right amount of carbonation for my palate. I think the best memories I have of this beer are all those commercials in the 80s that had bikini clad women.........what man with a beer belly doesn't like bikini clad women? |

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 March 1, 1990
Boo Sports Bar, The (Guelph, Ontario, Canada – University of Guelph, University Centre)
341ml bottle
5.50% ABV
$2.00
This was the first ice beer that I tried and I was pleasantly surprised. It had a floral aroma that I was unable to identify but was pleasant to the nostrils. The colour was beer like, a clear golden colour. It was very crisp to the taste with no clear identifiable flavours. A beer that goes down too damn easy. |

The aroma was all grainy malt with a hint of hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was very grainy, all malt, very little hops or bitterness. I tried a mouthfeel of this during the Olympics and was quite surprised at how bad it was. Having a full bottle reminds me that there’s nothing here to threaten the craft beer industry. |
