2276 | Dos Equis XX Amber | Mexico | Vienna / Amber Lager | 2.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 355ml bottle
4.60% ABV
I tried this beer on March 7, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto. The beer poured a solid reddish-brown colour with a thin white head. The aroma was primarily grassy with a little malt. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, but highly carbonated. The flavour was grassy, a little malt, and a little sourness. Definitely better than a Corona or a Tecate. |

The aroma is sickly grainy malt, with a touch of hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and well carbonated. The flavour is very grassy with little else to please the tongue. |

2278 | Alexander Keith's Premium White | Canada | Witbier | 2.2
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 20oz Draught
5.0%
Saint Louis Wings Bar and Grill (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – 313 Bremner Boulevard)
May 1, 2009
$6.55
The beer was a hazy gold colour with a very thin white soapy-like head. There was very little effervescence. The aroma was weak wheat malt, and some citrus (but that may have been the small chunk of orange affixed to the rim of the glass). The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour was sweet wheat malt, some peppery spiciness, and finished with a mild bitterness. I tried the beer because it was the only thing in the restaurant I hadn’t tried. I may never try it again |

2283 | Rochester Mills MilkShake Stout (Chocolate Cheesecake) | United States | Milk Stout | 2.2
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 473ml can
4.5% ABV
Best Before: June 4, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
December 8, 2018
$3.49
The beer, when held up to a strong white light, pours a translucent dark brown colour with blackened edges. The head starts out very generous and is light brown, but quickly dissipates allowing the rest of the can to be poured. The first thing you smell is chocolate milk, the Sealtest variety, followed by weak roasted malts and coffee. As with the other stouts out of this box (only 1 more to go Thank God!) the mouthfeel is thin bodied, however unlike the others, this one is undercarbonated. The flavour is nothing like any chocolate cheesecake I would want to try. In fact, this tastes pretty close to a Yoo-Hoo soft drink. I think I may avoid Rochester Mills in the future. |

2284 | Berliner Pilsner | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500ml can
5.0% ABV
Canned On: April 17, 2018
Best Before: July 17, 2019
LCBO #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill) December 23, 2018
$1.95
The beer pours a translucent pale straw gold colour with a generous white bubbly head which didn’t last all that long. The aroma is grainy malt, wet grass, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is bitter leather, with notes of grass. The taste kills this! If the can didn't say brewed in Germany on it, I would have sworn this was a North American Macro product (Molson/Labatts/Coors/Miller/Anheuer-Busch)

The name of the brewery on the can is 'Berliner Pilsenert Brauerie GmbH' but the address matches that of the 'Brauerei Schultheiss' |

The aroma is cereal grains, weak herbal hops, and some spicy notes. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is weak grainy malt with a bitter hop finish. Not a lot going for this one. Very bland. |

The aroma is funk, grass, earthy hops, and yeast. Not much in the way of citrus or fruity notes in the aroma. The aroma is medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is putrid! The flavour is dominated by funky yeast and grains, and nothing good about either of them! This brewery keeps missing the mark for me....and I like the town of Beamsville! |

2292 | De Molen Rasputin | Netherlands | Imperial Stout | 2.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330ml bottle
10.7% ABV (as marked on the bottle)
Bar Hop (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
December 6, 2013
$13.95
Note: This beer is described as an Imperial Stout. While the bar I was at has been in contact with the brewer and it's rep in Canada due to the possibility of quality issues, the brewer insists that what's in the bottle is the proper beer. The beer poured a solid reddish-broen colour with a thin tan coloured head. The aroma was yeast, dark fruits, and grains. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with above average carbonation. The flavour was tart fruit and yeast, with some graininess. Despite what the brewer says, I believe that the beer I had was a sour Belgian Strong Ale and not an Imperial Stout as the bottle/label/brewer suggests. I have graded it as what it was supposed to be. |

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 April 7, 2022
473ml can
5.0% ABV
Canned On: December 1, 2021
LCBO Outlet #649 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Sobey’s Plaza)
$2.20
A more experienced beer reviewer’s review! The beer poured from a can a very weak golden yellow with a generous bubbly white head which quickly disappeared with little to no lacing. The aroma was weak grains, weak hops, and some acidic notes. The mouthfeel was weak to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was mainly grains with weak hop and metallic notes. Certainly not a beer I would want to drink with any regularity, but not as bad as some other macro lagers either.

Original Review
First Tried in 1987
341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
Not a beer that thrills me. First off.............I have to admit that of Canada's two mega-breweries, I have generally supported Molson. In fact, I've only tried three Labatt products, and all of them were only tried once. Blue, John Labatt Classic, and Labatt Copper (you all remember Labatt Copper don't you? 1995? National campaign which had Copper X and Copper Y and beer drinkers voted which was their favourite? and the winner lasted all of 5 months in beer stores). Anyway, I digress. Blue is supposedly Canada's beer of choice. The aroma was malty, but dissipated quickly. The colour was a very pale yellow with a slight head. The mouthfeel was very watery suggesting that if you enjoy the flavour, you can probably down these by the case. The flavour was nothing to write home about as it too was watery with only slight malt tones. All in all a forgettable beer. |

The aroma was very faint malt...very faint. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with high carbonation. The taste was awful, not sure how to describe it really. Almost has salt tones to it. |
