The aroma is dominated by cereal grains and vomit. There is some light citrus, but not enough to make it favourable. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is much better than the aroma with light caramel notes, yeast, grassy malts and citrus. The finish is quite bitter.

September 21, 2022
Beer Store #2021 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Sobey’s Plaza)
473ml can
4.6% ABV
$2.95
The beer pours a translucent pale gold colour with a huge head that quickly disappears despite the high effervescence. 473ml can
4.5% ABV
Best Before: June 6, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
December 10 ,2018
$3.49
The beer pours a translucent dark brown colour with blackened edges and a creamy brown head which clings to the sides of the chalice. The aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, and weak hints of marshmallows. Kind of disappointing given how the aroma in the other cans was strong on the specialty flavours. The mouthfeel is weak bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, light notes of coffee and chocolate, and a little more marshmallow in the finish. I’m glad these are done!

2158 Pint Pursuits The Answer Canada Helles / Dortmunder 2.6

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5

473ml can
5.0% ABV
Canned On: August 15, 2018
LCBO #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill)
February 12, 2019
$2.95
I was a bit disappointed. After seeing the name, I half expected Allen Iverson to pop out of the can. He didn’t. The beer poured a light straw colour, with plenty of effervescence feeding a quickly disappearing white cap. The aroma was bready balt, some spice, and weak herbal hops. The mouthfeel was weak to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was bready malt, weak spice, and a slightly bitter hop finish. There were times I thought that the beer tasted something like a Labatt Blue from the 80s.

The aroma is grainy malt, yeast, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is very grainy with an overly bitter hop finish, and aftertaste. Was hoping for better!

The aroma is dominated by roasted malts and coffee. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is weak roasted malts and coffee with a weak bitter finish. This wasn’t a bad beer until the flavour score killed it!

Brewed in Canada by the Labatt Brewing Company for Goose Island Beer Company<br? 473ml can
4.2% ABV<bv> Canned On: August 22, 2019
LCBO Outlet #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill)
November 9, 2019
$2.85
The beer pours a hazed gold colour with plenty of effervescence and a rocky white cap. The aroma is weak wheat, cereal grains, light citrus, and funky hops. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is vegetal in nature (think green tomatoes), with hints of wheat and cereal. Not a lot of bitterness in the finish. Not likely to try the Canadian variant anytime soon either.

The aroma is grains, herbal hops, and weak tropical fruit notes. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour is nicely balanced between the grains and the hops, but both flavours are weak leaving this beer as flavoured water with a hint of alcohol. Quite disappointed.

2163 Rochester Mills MilkShake Stout (Holiday Latte) United States Milk Stout 2.5

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5

After reassessing the previous can, this beer pours like a dark cream soda, a translucent dark cherry red cream soda with brown edges. The head starts off huge and within a couple of seconds is left as an island of bubbles on the centre of the beer. The aroma is quite weak in this case. Weak notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. Certainly ‘thicker’ than the Crème de menthe. The flavour was one dimensional coming across as nothing more than roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate.

March 16, 2019
LCBO Outlet #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
568ml can
4.2% ABV
Canned On: February 25, 2019
$3.25
The beer pours a medium gold colour with very little head, and what head there is, lasts less than a couple of minutes. Lots of effervescence. The aroma is grainy malt, weak herbal hops, and weak peppery note. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is weak grains, some light hops, and grass. It tastes better than a lot of 4.2%; pale lagers, that is for sure. But still....568ml is too much!

June 5, 2019
LCBO Outlet #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
473ml can
3.0% ABV
Canned On: April 22, 2019
$3.15
The beer pours a highly hazed golden orange colour with a bubbly white head which lasts a few moments. The aroma is light grass, like, oranges, and ginger. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. There is a lot of lime in the flavour, and next to no beer. As with their other two radlers, this is a great tasting alcoholic juice beverage, but really isn’t beery enough for me to call a radler or shandy.

The aroma is grains, herbal hops, bready yeast, and a hint of citrus. The mouthfeel is thin bodied, with average carbonation. The flavour is similar to that of a light beer. You taste the grains, the bitter hop finish, and there is a hint of lime that lingers.

341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
Bottling Date: Unknown
The Bookshelf Café (Guelph, Ontario, Canada)
June 8, 1991
$1.85
The first time I tried this beer, it was the only beer in the house. It wasn't that great. The second time I tried this beer, it was because I was a summer student with the brewery. It still wasn't that great. The company's flagship brand and liked by many of my friends, just not my glass of brew. I have to admit, the clear bottle is a very nice touch. The beer pours a light yellow colour (so the bottle isn't hiding anything) with a minimal head. The aroma is thick and hoppy, maybe too hoppy. This beer has way too much carbonation and is harsh on the cheeks. The taste is a mishmash of varying degrees..slightly malty, slightly grassy, slightly awful.

The aroma was malty with no hints of honey whatsoever. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with little carbonation. The taste was malty/beery with no hints of honey. The beer was very similar to a somewhat flat Rickard's Red. In fact, the lack of honey aroma and taste and the reddish-brown colour had me wondering.
