20oz draught
5% ABV
Bar Volo (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
September 21, 2012
This beer poured a blackish brown, by far the darkest brown ale I have ever seen. 500ml ceramic flip-top bottle
5.0% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
December 25, 2012
The beer pours a coca-colour colour with absolutely no head despite a vigourous pour. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, wood, and some smoke. No cognac from what I can smell. Mouthfeel is very thin (quite watery actually) for a porter with medium carbonation. Flavour is roasted malt, wood, and some alcohol. Not a lot in the way of coffee, especially when it can be accounted for from an olfactory standpoint.

The beer pours a hazed golden yellow colour with a thin white ring of a head, yet a thinner smaller ring than the shandy produced. The aroma is light wheat, grains, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with slightly above average carbonation. The flavour has a light fruity sweetness to it with a dose of wheat and grass. The extra carbonation does come as a surprise at first. A one and done beer at best.

February 6, 1987
Gift
341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
$0.00
This is a classic beer. I remember the commercials as a child with the famed Carlsberg Clydesdales. Haven't seen those in years, makes me wonder if they still have those. This beverage has an alright aroma, typical beer aroma. The colour is a nice golden colour. It has a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is bland, similar to other beers of the style. One thing of note is that this beer tastes better cold than at room temperature.
