1151 | Ommegang Game of Thrones Royal Reserve 003: Mother Of Dragons | United States | Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 6 750ml bottle
6.60% ABV
Bottled On: October 31, 2018
Best Before: October 31, 2020
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
March 9, 2019
$13.80
The beer pours a slightly translucent coca-cola colour when held to a strong white light, with a huge frothy light tan coloured head which lasts a while. The aroma is quite complex as both the tart cherries, and burnt wood are prominent. There are hints of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee as well, but it is the tart cherries and wood that dominate. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, slightly creamy, and with above average carbonation. The flavour is both chocolatey and tart at the same time. There are also notes of roast and coffee in the mix. Looks good, smells good, feels good, but does not taste good. Nor am I a fan of the dark frosted bottle as I can’t see how much yeast was left on the bottom. |

1152 | Lickinghole Creek One Lion Imperial Stout | United States | Imperial Stout | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 750ml bottle
7.0% ABV
Bottled On: October 18, 2018
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
March 23, 2019
$11.20
First of all, at 7%, this is not an Imperial Stout, I don’t care what the brewer says. Maybe things are different in Virginia, but this beer falls short of the Imperial Stout on every beer web site. The beer pours black with a huge frothy brown head which doesn’t last very long. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and weak hints of dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. The beer is very one dimensional. |

1153 | Innis & Gunn Limited Edition Kindred Spirits | United Kingdom | Stout | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330ml bottle
6.1% ABV
Best Before: November 1, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
April 1, 2019
$4.95
The beer pours a very dark brown colour with a generous rocky light brown head which lasts several minutes. The aroma was burnt wood, molasses, whiskey, and roasted malt. The mouthfeel was full bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour lacks the punch of the aroma with notes of roasted malt, some bitter soy sauce notes, dark chocolate, and minor hints of burnt wood and whiskey. While I’m not a fan of in your face barrel aged beers, I do expect there to be some barrel character and this has it, but not enough of it. |

(Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
April 5, 2019
$7.74
The beer pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a long lasting creamy light brown head. Lots of lacing as this goes down. The aromas are roasted malt, chocolate, nuts, and light coffee hints. The mouthfeel is medium boed with average carbonation. The flavour was milk chocolate, roasted malt, and there were peppery spicy notes in the finish, but that may have been from my lunch. All in all a good beer. |

Plenty of microbubbles keeping the head alive. The aroma is bread, melons, citrus, light pine hints, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. There is a definite flavour punch with strong citrus flavours up front, some grainy malt in back, and more bitter citrusy hops on the finish. Very enjoyable. |

(Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 17, 2019
$6.64
The beer poured a translucent light amber colour with a creamy light brown head. The colour puts it somewhere between a maibock and a dunkler bock. The aroma is light hints of dark fruit, caramel, roasted malt, earthy hops, and grass. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is unfortunately dominated by notes of alcohol. This overpowers the mild notes of dark fruit, grass, and yeast. Looks good, smells good, tastes not so good. |

The aroma is all the breakfast fruit juices rolled into one. A very faint hint of cereal malt. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is similar to the aroma but the grainy malt starts to come through, along with some hoppy bitterness. Not bad, but not worth trying again. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 473ml can
6.8% ABV
Canned On: September 11, 2019
LCBO Outlet # 007 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Eglinton / Mt. Pleasant)
October 2, 2019
$3.95
The beer pours a solid black colour with a huge foamy dark brown head which quickly recedes to a creamy ring. The aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, cherries, vanilla, and roasted malt. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour brings a new element to this beer as there are elements of charred wood in the flavour that you don’t get in the aroma. Chocolate abounds with hints of cherry and coffee. Doesn’t hold a candle to the old Black Oak Double Chocolate Cherry Stout of yesteryear however. |

The rhubarb is overpowering in the armoa leaving only hints of grass, herbal hops, and weak yeast in the background. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour tastes like a nice balance between a blonde lager and a strawberry rhubarb pie, and I love strawberry rhubarb pie. There are hints of grass, and a bitter hoppy finish, but this is pie in a beer glass. |

The aroma is roasted malt, nuts, earthy hops, and light yeast notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. I don’t know how to define the taste. There is some definite tartness that bugs me. Not a lot of caramel sweetness as described on the can but there is some definite nuttiness in the flavour, and a bitter finish. Looks good, smells good, but something is lost on the tongue. |
