951 | Junction Craft Caribru Mango IPA | Canada | IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
5.60% ABV
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
March 18, 2019
$2.955
The beer pours a hazed golden orange colpour with a thin lace covering for a head. The aroma is orange, mango, and grass. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is similar to the aroma with a piney, bitter aftertaste. It’s a nice IPA, not as tropical as the trend has been, but not as citrusy as the 2000s decade. |

952 | Granite Pirate Queen | Canada | Amber Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 16oz draught
5.2% ABV
Granite Brewery and Tied House (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
March 22, 2019
$8.50
The beer poured a translucent dark copper colour with a thin white ring for a head, which was short lived. The aroma was caramel, bread, yeast, and light citrus. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was roasted malt, weak caramel notes, cereal malt, and light citrusy hop notes. The beer was decent, but the flavour was weaker than the aroma would have indicated. |

953 | Flying Monkeys Sparklepuff | Canada | Imperial IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 473ml can
10.2% ABV
Canned On: March 21, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
April 12, 2019
$4.95
This is a chunky pour. The colour is medium gold, more murky than hazy, with a huge white head which recedes to a creamy film. The aroma is very peachy with notes of grass, light spices, and tropical fruits. The mouthfeel is full bodied with average carbonation. The first thing I taste is alcohol, followed by bitter citrus ring, grass, and finally the peaches come through in the finish. I want to like it, but the alcohol bitterness is hanging around too long. |

954 | Modern Times Fruitlands - Sour Tropical Fruit Gose | United States | Gose | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
4.8% ABV
Canned On: April 29, 2018
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
May 25, 2019
$3.45
The beer was canned over a year ago….so who knows what to expect. It pours a very hazed orange gold with a thin creamy head which slowly recedes to a long lasting ring. The aroma is tart tropical citrus, grains, and funk. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour is well balanced between the malted grains and the tart tropical fruit with the tartness lingering on the tongue for a while. Not bad for a year old gose, but I do wonder how it would have been if it was fresher. |

955 | Hespeler Brewing Village IPA | Canada | IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
6.0% ABV
Canned On: April 10, 2019
LCBO #411 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Wellesley)
June 7, 2019
$2.95
The beer pours a translucent copper colour with a generous off-white rocky head that lasts a few minutes. The aroma is weak citrus, light caramel, some perfumey hops, and some grass. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is light caramel and citrus. Sweet up front, bitter in the end. A nice little IPA that takes me back to the first decade of the 21st century. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
6.6% ABV
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
June 10, 2019
$3.15
The beer pours a translucent light rust colour with a huge generous light tan coloured head which doesn’t last very long, nor does it lace very well. The aroma is caramel, some citrus peel, earthy hops, and a light spicy note. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, sticky, with average carbonation. The flavour is well balanced between the caramel malt sweetness, and citrus peel bitterness in the finish. I quite like the beer. |

957 | Parallel 49 Trash Panda Hazy IPA | Canada | IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 473ml can
5.5% ABV
Canned On: May 10, 2019
LCBO Outlet #649 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Louis Saint Laurent / Bronte)
July 31, 2019
$3.15
The beer pours a hazed medium gold colour with a thin white film for a head, but that film laces all down the glass. The aroma is dominated by tropical fruit (grapefruit and pineapple) with hints of grains, yeast, and spices. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is quite fruity. There are hints of grains and a light bitter finish, but the flavour is all about the fruity notes. |

958 | Big Rig Tales From The Patch Spiced Pumpkin Porter | Canada | Porter | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
5.8% ABV
Canned On: August 29, 2019
LCBO Outlet #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill)
October 2, 2019
$3.20
The beer pours a coca-cola black colour with a creamy light brown cap on top. The cap thins out over time, but leaves a little lacing. The aroma is pumpkin and spice forward with a hint of roasted malt, coffee, and earthy hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is a competition between the spices and the coffee for dominance, although I feel the coffee wins out in this one. The pumpkin flavour is present but not overpowering. The finish is both bitter and tangy. A good pumpkin beer. |

959 | Nickel Brook ZAP! Sour IPA | Canada | Wild Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
5.5% ABV
LCBO Outlet #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
October 15, 2019
$3.20
The can has no date/date code anywhere on it. It pours a very hazy lemonade yellow with a huge bubbly white head which sticks around a few minutes. A lot of effervescence going on. The aroma is heavy on the citrus, with hints of grass, yeast, and funk. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is dominated by the tart citrus notes and the yeast, Nothing about this beer screams ‘IPA’ but it’s good nonetheless. |

The aroma is dark fruit like raisins or plums, molasses, grass, and earthy hops. Smells quite good actually. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is not as good as the smell. While only 6%, the alcohol can be detected along with notes of bread, yeast, and weak sweetness. It’s not bad, but not something I would try again. |

The aroma is citrus, grains, musty hops, and weak tropical notes. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is very IPA like, hop forward with notes of tropical fruit balanced by a malty grassy sweetness and finishing with a strong hoppy bitterness. Not a lot of ‘spice’ in the beer for me/ |

Lacing is generous down the glass. The aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, nuts, vanilla, and weak soy sauce hits. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is bourbon and wood with some hints of chocolate and cold pressed coffee in the background. The discernable imperial stout notes are warming and tasty, but the bourbon and wood are overpowering. |

965 | Big Rig Midnight Kissed My Cow (Habanero and Cold Brew) | Canada | Milk Stout | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 12oz draught
5.6% ABV
C'est What? (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
January 31, 2020
$7.50
The beer poured a solid black colour with a thin brown ring for a head. The aroma is roasted malt, light notes of vanilla and coffee, and a weak hint of peppers. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is ALL habanero peppers. If you like your beer spicy, this is the beer for you. If not, stay away. The initial flavour is chocolate, but that quickly gives way to the spicy hot pepper feel (and flavour). |
