473ml can
4.5% ABV
Best Before: June 20, 2020
LCBO Outlet #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill)
August 28, 2019
$3.15
The beer pours a translucent dark copper colour with a creamy tan coloured head which lasts a few minutes. Aroma is light roasted malt, caramel, and noble hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, slightly creamy, with ample carbonation. Flavour is very true to the style with notes of caramel, roasted nuts, and a mild bitter finish. If this is how well they do German beers, I look forward to their future efforts.

The aroma is passion fruit and citrus with some grainy malt and herbal hops as well. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. A surprising hearty body for a session IPA. The flavour is a downer however, the fruity and citrus notes found in the aroma are very weak on the tongue with the grassy notes dominating the flavour. A decent beer nonetheless.

The aroma was citrusy hops, mild tropical fruit notes, cereal grains, and pine needles. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was very citrusy, reminiscent of the old style DIPAs before the tropical hop craze kicked in. Also had flavours of weak yeast and grass. It wasn’t as bitter as I would have hoped for, but the thought was there.

There is definitely coffee in the aroma. Along with hints of citrus, herbal hops, and biscuit malt. The mouthfeel is medium to medium-full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is a battle between the coffee notes and the citrus notes, and they aren’t playing very well off of one another. In the background the biscuit malt is going about its’ business.

The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla with nary a whiff of coconut to be found. The mouthfeel is creamy, full bodied, and well carbonated. The flavour is sweeter than the aroma would indicate with notes of chocolate, molasses, and coconut balancing out the roasted malt and coffee flavours. Not a bad beer in the end.
