Effervescence was apparent. The aroma was slightly sweet, there is a hint of oak, nutty malt, but no signs of whiskey. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour unfortunately has a sour finish to it and has a hint of whiskey. The malt and oak are definitely evident as well. The beer looks great, but the taste doesn't match up in my opinion.

The flavour was grapefruit through to the end, with very little complexity.

The beer poured a coppery red colour into the glass with a 1 finger creamy white head that dissipated quickly to leave a little trace on top. The smell was rather foul to say the least....almost sour. The mouthfeel is crisp and slightly thick with an idea level of carbonation. The taste is good with some hints of malt and fruit (although I can't place the sweetness off-hand).

The aroma is a combination of roasted malt and yeast with some sweet hints. The mouthfeel is thick and full with some mild carbonation, almost creamy. The taste is malty with some hints of caramel (the possible sweetness in the aroma). A nice bitter finish. This is a very good beer.
