Lacks intensity.

Not a bad beer, but there are better Viennas out there

The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, cherries and anise. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, and average carbonation. The flavour is not very b itter for a porter with the sweetness of the cherries cutting through the bitterness of the roasted malt and coffee flavours. This is the best Railway City beer I’ve tried in years.

The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and heavy on spices (ginger, clove and nutmeg). The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was sweet chocolate, spices, roasted malt, and a hint of coffee. I really enjoyed this beer.

The aroma was citrus hops, some roasted malt, and dark chocolate notes. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was a tad on the sweet side with dark fruit and chocolate flavours rounded out by weak citrus and coffee notes. It was quite enjoyable with no jolting aromas or flavours found in other ABAs

It stuck around. The aroma was grapefruity hops, caramel, weak spice, and grass. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was a nice balance of caramel sweetness and grapefruity bitterness. The rye came through a bit in the aroma but was no where to be noticed in the flavour. Still, a solid beer.

The aroma is yeast, sweet candy sugar, brown sugar, and roasted malt. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is a miss for me as it falls kind of flat. The dark fruit and yeasty flavours are there that are typical of dark Belgian Strong ales, but they’re weak, almost in a watered down sense. Looks good, smells good, tastes weak.

Lacing was minimal. The aroma was caramel, earthy hops, and grass. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was as the aroma would indicate. A nice balance between the caramel sweetness and the hoppy finish.

The aroma was fruit juice &#40;orange and grapefruit&#41; and grains. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour was akin to fruit juice with alcohol, with the juice tones being grapefruit and passion fruit. Not a fan of the style as they are more like alcoholic fruit juice than beer.

The aroma was roasted malt with hints of chocolate, coffee, and molasses. The mouthfeel was full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour leaned towards the bitter side with notes of roasted malt and dark chocolate. A pretty solid beer.

Highly effervescent. The aroma is very grainy with slight hints of caramel and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is malt forward with some caramel and a bitter hop finish. No off-flavours. A solid well made beer.

The aroma is tropical fruit notes such as mango and passion fruit, some grains, and some musty notes. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is dry with a definite white grapefruit bent, there are also weak notes of grapefruit skin, some grass, and a little spiciness. Interesting.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen a red pilsner before. The aroma is very grainy with some earthy hops thrown into the mix. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is typical pilsner flavour with grainy malt, a little spice, and a bitter hop finish. I am quite surprised given the colour of the beer that there are no caramel or sweet malt flavours.

The aroma is grapefruit, light caramel, grass, and dish soap. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was toasted caramel malt, grapefruity hops, and nicely balanced between the two.

The aroma is grains, herbal hops, and weak tropical fruit notes. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour is nicely balanced between the grains and the hops, but both flavours are weak leaving this beer as flavoured water with a hint of alcohol. Quite disappointed.

The aroma is stale grains, weak grass, cardboard, and some musty hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grainy and acidic. There is a weak hop bite in the finish, but not enough to make this a ‘good beer’.

Certainly not the best version of the style.

The aroma is tangy cranberries, grass, and floral hop scents. The mouthfeel is weak to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is really just a grainy lager with a hint of tangy cranberries thrown in. The beer was canned 3 weeks ago, but the fruity freshness isn’t there.

The aroma is very citrusy, grapefruit in particular with hints of light spices and grass. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is more grass than citrus with a bitter citrusy hop finish. Enjoyable.

The flavour is grapefruity hops, balanced with grassy noyes, and a bitter leathery aftertaste.

The aroma was burnt wood, almost barrel like notes, roasted malt, dark chocolate, and some tart fruit. The mouthfeel was thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was sour funk with notes or roasted malt and coffee. An interesting beer, but not something I would reach for again.

The aroma was biscuity grains, earthy hops, and some yeasty notes. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour was biscuits and cereal, with some dishsoap notes and a weak finish. Not their best effort.

The aroma is soy sauce &#40;not good when it’s the first smell in an Imperial Stout&#41;, roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. The ingredients list raspberries and cherries but I’m not feeling them as part of the aroma. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is bitter chocolate, roasted malt, with coffee and soy notes in the background. Being a supporter of Bar Hop, this beer is a huge disappointment and hopefully the draught version is better.
