There appears to be pulp in the film. The aroma is grains, light yeast, oranges, and weak spicy hops. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is watered down orange juice with some alcohol in the mix. This is nothing like the CreamSicles I enjoyed as a kid. I am very disappointed. |

Problem is, they are all just ‘meh!’ |

1261 | MacKinnon Brothers Crosscut Canadian Ale | Canada | Blonde Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 473ml can
5.2% ABV
Canned On: February 5, 2019
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Yonge / Eglinton)
April 15, 2019
$3.05
The beer pours a hazed medium gold colour with a very thin white film for a ring. Effervescence is active. The aroma is grainy malt, some light fruit notes, yeast, and earthy hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, crisp, with average carbonation. The flavour has more in common with a Nortgh American blonde ale than it does with either an English Pale Ale or an American pale Ale. Quite grainy with a slightly sweet start leading to a bitter finish. Aside from the grains and the hops, not a lot of complexity here. |

1262 | MacKinnon Brothers 8 Man English Pale Ale | Canada | English Pale Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 473ml can
5.8% ABV
Canned ON: February 5, 2019
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Yonge / Eglinton)
April 14, 2019
$3.05
The beer pours a translucent copper colour with a thin white film for a head. Effervescence is decent. The aroma is caramel, biscuit malt, light musty hops, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is well balanced with caramel malt, spicy hop, and grains. There is nothing outstanding about this beer, but it is a very good example of a North American take on an EPA. |

The aroma is tropical fruit, grass, light spices, and herbal hop notes. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet fruit, grains, yeast, and citrus peel. I smell no coconut, and I taste no coconut. Yet the can claims it is there. Despite that, this was a good tasting beer! |

1264 | Flying Monkeys Sparklepuff | Canada | Imperial IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 473ml can
10.2% ABV
Canned On: March 21, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
April 12, 2019
$4.95
This is a chunky pour. The colour is medium gold, more murky than hazy, with a huge white head which recedes to a creamy film. The aroma is very peachy with notes of grass, light spices, and tropical fruits. The mouthfeel is full bodied with average carbonation. The first thing I taste is alcohol, followed by bitter citrus ring, grass, and finally the peaches come through in the finish. I want to like it, but the alcohol bitterness is hanging around too long. |

1265 | Grand River Beam Me Up | Canada | Scottish Ale | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Scottish Ale 473ml can
6.2% ABV
Canned On: March 21, 2019
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Yonge / Eglinton)
April 13, 2019
$3.40
The beer pours a translucent reddish brown colour with a thick tan coloured head that lasts several minutes. The aroma is roasted malt, molasses, nuts, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is a tad on the bitter side. It starts off sweet, but the bitterness overpowers it by the time it reaches the throat. So, a tad thin for a Wee Heavy and a little too bitter for the style. |

The aroma is grainy malt, maybe a hint of biscuits in there, along with herbal hop notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation (despite the excess effervescence). The flavour is very malty with some subtle sweetness at the start giving way to a twinge of bitter hops in the finish. Nothing offensive here, but not worth reaching for again. |

1275 | Innis & Gunn Limited Edition Kindred Spirits | United Kingdom | Stout | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330ml bottle
6.1% ABV
Best Before: November 1, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
April 1, 2019
$4.95
The beer pours a very dark brown colour with a generous rocky light brown head which lasts several minutes. The aroma was burnt wood, molasses, whiskey, and roasted malt. The mouthfeel was full bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour lacks the punch of the aroma with notes of roasted malt, some bitter soy sauce notes, dark chocolate, and minor hints of burnt wood and whiskey. While I’m not a fan of in your face barrel aged beers, I do expect there to be some barrel character and this has it, but not enough of it. |
