1176 | Side Launch Dry-Hopped Sour | Canada | Wild Ale | 2.9
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 473ml can
4.20% ABV
Main / Bronte LCBO Outlet (Milton,. Ontario, Canada)
August 11, 2018
$3.25
The beer poured a hazed light orange-gold colour with absolutely no head....none! The aroma was orange citrus, yeast, and surprising light caramel notes. The mouthfeel was on the thin side with average carbonation. The flavour was tart fruit, still tasted like an orange to me, some grany malt, and a definite yeasty note. Not really my thing, but a well made product. |

1177 | Clear Lake Brewing Session Ale | Canada | IPA | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 473ml can
4.8% Abv
Canned On: February 28, 2018
Main / Bronte LCBO outlet (Milton,. Ontario, Canada)
August 11, 2018
$2.95
The beer pours a slightly hazed golden colour with a thin bubbly off-white head which does not last. The aroma is grainy malt and earthy hops and nothing else, a simple aroma. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt with a weak hoppy finish. I know this beer is billed as a 'Session Ale' but everything about the aroma and flavour says pale lager, albeit a non-adjunct version of the style. |

The aroma was weak biscuit malt and citrus. Not much else could be discerned. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was caramel malt, tangerine/orange, and some grains thrown in for good measure. Quite enjoyable. |

1179 | DAB Maibock | Germany | Bock | 2.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500ml can
7.00% ABV
Canned On: May 16, 2018
Best Before: August 16, 2019
Yonge Eglinton Centre LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
August 8, 2018
$2.60
The beer pours a translucent gold colour with good effervescence, and with a generous bubbly off-white head that quickly disappears to a light film. The aroma was grains, alcohol, and earthy hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was sweet and grainy with a definite alcohol presence and some old leathery notes. I'm quite surprised that D.A.B. would pass a beer like this off as a Maibock when it more closely resembles a beer like the Crest and Faxe 10% strong lagers. I rarely drain-pour a beer, and I can't remember the last time I did it, but add this beer to the short list of my drain-pours (I almost feel sorry for the drain). |

The aroma is light grains, yeast, citrus, and some tropical fruit notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with average carbonation and almost a hefeweizen feel. The aroma is funky, with notes of tart fruit and salt. There is some grains in the background but it is the salty and tart flavours that predominate. |

The aroma is light wheat, barley, and earthy hops with the added bonus of wak citrus. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. 1183 | Browar Fortuna Komes Porter Baltycki | Poland | Baltic Porter | 3.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500ml bottle
9.0% ABV
Best before: March 9, 2019
Main / Bronte LCBO Outlet (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
August 7, 2018
$3.65
The beer pours a coca-cola brownish-black with almost no head, save for a thin dark brown film of bubbles. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and alcohol. The alcohol was very noticeable. The mouthfeel was medium to full-bodied, but carbonation was well below average, almost no carbonation in this bottle. The flavour was sweet milk chocolate, bitter coffee, and roasted malt. Despite the dating on the bottle, this seemed like an 'old' beer based oin the lack of carbonation and real flavours, but based on this bottle, this beer was a letdown |

The aroma is cereal grains, passion fruit, and a little bit of mustiness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, a fair bit of creaminess, and below average carbonation (how very British of them). The flavour is cereal malt, tropical fruit, and nice bitter hop finish. Not as flavourful as the Omnipollo Zodiac I had earlier, but still decently flavoured. |

1190 | Collective Arts Collective Project: Liquid Arts Fest IPA | Canada | IPA | 3.2

The aroma is oranges, mango, and grapefruity hops. If it wasn't for the hoppy aroma, this would look and smell like 5 Alive fruit juice. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a definite low carbonation sensation. The flavour is reminiscent of orange juice that has sat around for a few hours with a bitter hop bite in the finish. This is my first "milkshake IPA" because I have been avoiding the style. Now I know why as my fears were indeed realized. |

Only a month old and no head, not off to a good start. The aroma is very faint with hints of musty grains and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, very crisp, and above average carbonation. The flavour is non-existant. It tastes like highly carbonated water with a hint of grains, just a hint. It’s not ‘off flavours’ like most macro lagers, there just is no discernable flavour. Aside from the mouthfeel, there is nothing to make me think this is a beer. |
