The aroma is dark fruit, chocolate, caramel, and yeast. Definitely detecting some Quad notes here. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, creamy, with ample carbonation. The flavour starts off sweet with notes of caramel and molasses, with some roasted malt character, some spice, almost peppery in fact, followed by yeast and a chocolatey note. Lots of flavours in this once it warms.

Not sure of it was the peppery stout I had before this, but there isn’t a lot of oatmeal character in this beer.

The peppery aroma of the scotch bonnets hits you right away before noting that there are also notes of roasted malt, coffee and bourbon. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is hot and spicy with the peppery notes up front, and notes of bourbon, coffee and chocolate in the finish. The description lists chocolate and coconut but my palate detects no coconut and very little chocolate, nonetheless a very well done beer.

The aroma was pretty basic with the roasted malt notes and ginger providing almost all the aromatics. Any nutty and hoppish notes were buried behind a wall of ginger. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour was outstanding to my palate with notes of ginger, roasted malt, and coffee. I really enjoyed this.

The aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, and weak hints of marshmallows. Kind of disappointing given how the aroma in the other cans was strong on the specialty flavours. The mouthfeel is weak bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, light notes of coffee and chocolate, and a little more marshmallow in the finish. I’m glad these are done!

The aroma is cereal and biscuit malt, and some floral hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is very malty with some sweet cereal malt followed by a weak bitter hop finish. The finishing bite could have been more crisp, but a good beer.

The head starts out very generous and is light brown, but quickly dissipates allowing the rest of the can to be poured. The first thing you smell is chocolate milk, the Sealtest variety, followed by weak roasted malts and coffee. As with the other stouts out of this box (only 1 more to go Thank God!) the mouthfeel is thin bodied, however unlike the others, this one is undercarbonated. The flavour is nothing like any chocolate cheesecake I would want to try. In fact, this tastes pretty close to a Yoo-Hoo soft drink. I think I may avoid Rochester Mills in the future.

The beer pours a beautiful translucent dark copper colour with a thin film for a head. The aroma is toasted malts, light caramel, floral hops, and some weak spiciness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and is slightly creamy. The flavour is light sweet caramel, cereal grains, a little yeastiness and a nice bitter hop finish. This is quite good for a ‘Scottish’ ale.

The beer poured a translucent amber gold with a very thin white film for a head. The aroma was heavy on the oak and the caramel, with light hints of herbal hops and cereal malt in behind. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation and a slight creaminess. The flavour was along the lines of the aroma with sweet caramel, toasted grains, and vanilla wrapped in oaky notes, followed by a decent bitter finish.

The aroma right out of the can was blueberry pancakes with roasted malt, dark choclate, and coffee. The mouthfeel is very thin for a milk stout, as with a previous can, very soda-like in mouthfeel. Carbonation is average. The flavour is sweet blueberries, bitter chocolate and roasted malt. Again, not a good beer, but would make a decent soft drink.

After reassessing the previous can, this beer pours like a dark cream soda, a translucent dark cherry red cream soda with brown edges. The head starts off huge and within a couple of seconds is left as an island of bubbles on the centre of the beer. The aroma is quite weak in this case. Weak notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. Certainly ‘thicker’ than the Crème de menthe. The flavour was one dimensional coming across as nothing more than roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate.

There is very little to no cap to speak of, aside from a small brown island of bubbles. The two predominant aromas are alcohol (it’s only 4.5%) and mint. Closer inspection reveals roasted malt, chocolate, and vanilla. The mouthfeel is very thin, almost soda pop thin which goes along with being a translucent stout and quickly disappearing head. The flavour is very weak, almost watered down. There are weak hints of roasted malt and chocolate with a hint of mint. This did not make for a good beer, but would have made for a great soft drink.

The flavour was primarily roasted malt, with a hint of bitter chocolate. There is almost a maple type sweetness that isn’t maple, but I can’t really describe it. A solid effort.

The flavour is very tart, so tart that I can’t recognize what the underlying fruit is. I swear I taste chopped Vidalia onions in this – and I hate onions. This is certainly not my favourite Collective Arts beer

It was very grainy, and had an 'off' bitterness that I could not place. Not something I would try again.
