The aroma is grains, German yeast, and light fruity hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, slightly creamy, with ample carbonation. The flavour is malty with notes light apple, the yeast flavour is present, and the hop finish has a bitter bite. This is the best Ontario Marzen I’ve had since the original Beau’s Nightmarzen

The flavour is slightly sweet with hints of wheat malt and bubblegum notes and a hint of spiciness. All in all not bad.

The head is chocolate brown, creamy, and half an inch thick. Lacing is generous. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted nuts, coffee, and vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation, a little weak for the style. This is a bitter beer. There is a little sweetness, but for the most part the coffee and hops give this a bitter finish.

Again, nothing that strays from a typical hard cider.

The flavour is pine heavy with notes of tropical fruits, grains, yeast, and light bitter hops. There is no sign of the high alcohol content in the aroma or flavour, but the brain detects it shortly after finishing!

The head is white, rocky, about 1/8 inch thick, and lasts a long time. The aroma is funky yeast in all its’ glory, with lighter hints of tart berries, grass, and earthy hops. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is tart fruit, so tart it takes the tongue a few seconds to recover. Once the tongue recovers one discovers a white wine flavour with the yeast prevalent. Interesting beer!

The flavour is wheat, and the alcohol is certainly noticeable. The alcohol gives the beer a far more bitter flavour than I like to see in the ‘white IPA / hopped witbier’ realm.

Not very grainy, and not very hoppy.

The aroma is grainy malt (I think I detect wheat), orange, tangerine, and lots of yeast. It smells like my old graduate lab bench in many ways. I might have been on to something 30 years ago and didn’t realize it. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour is tart oranges and yeast. It was canned 5 months ago today so that may have taken out whatever sweet flavours there might have been – but it is Collective Arts, so who knows?

The flavour is tart fruit (doesn’t really say ‘pomegranate to me’), and grains. Certainly more sour than bitter, but good for what it is.

So, for me, no detectable hops in the aroma or flavour but I enjoyed the taste.
