1002 | Modern Times Fruitlands - Sour Tropical Fruit Gose | United States | Gose | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 473ml can
4.8% ABV
Canned On: April 29, 2018
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
May 25, 2019
$3.45
The beer was canned over a year ago….so who knows what to expect. It pours a very hazed orange gold with a thin creamy head which slowly recedes to a long lasting ring. The aroma is tart tropical citrus, grains, and funk. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour is well balanced between the malted grains and the tart tropical fruit with the tartness lingering on the tongue for a while. Not bad for a year old gose, but I do wonder how it would have been if it was fresher. |

1003 | Loblaws No Name Beer | Canada | Pale Lager | 1.7
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 3 341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
May 23, 2019
Gift
This was a gift from a colleague and former friend. The beer pours a translucent pale straw colour with a bubbly white head. Effervescence is minimal, although the head lasts a few minutes. The aroma is stale cardboard, grass, and musty hops. Better than your average macro, but not in the same class as most craft pale lagers. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is sweet corn malt, with very little in the way of a bitter hop finish. I will not be trying this beer again......ever! |

(Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
May 17, 2019
$6.64
The beer poured a translucent light amber colour with a creamy light brown head. The aroma is funk, grass, earthy hops, and yeast. Not much in the way of citrus or fruity notes in the aroma. The aroma is medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is putrid! The flavour is dominated by funky yeast and grains, and nothing good about either of them! This brewery keeps missing the mark for me....and I like the town of Beamsville! |

The aroma is funky yeast, grass, and a light wisp of blueberries. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour has more of a blueberry punch than the aroma, and while it is still subtle, you can definitely notice it among the funky grains, and yeast flavours. |
