While I don’t get any cherry in the aroma, I definitely get tart cherries in the flavour, and they dominate the chocolate and mocha notes in the background. I love black forest cake. I do not love this beer however.

The flavour was very well balanced between sweet cherry notes, and tart cherry notes. There was a bit of graininess and a hint of alcohol, but this was a delicious beer nonetheless.

This takes me back to the first couple of barleywines I had, since then they’ve only gotten better but this will scare me off the style for a while.
