1284 | Labatt Blue | Canada | Pale Lager | 2.1
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 April 7, 2022
473ml can
5.0% ABV
Canned On: December 1, 2021
LCBO Outlet #649 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Sobey’s Plaza)
$2.20
A more experienced beer reviewer’s review! The beer poured from a can a very weak golden yellow with a generous bubbly white head which quickly disappeared with little to no lacing. The aroma was weak grains, weak hops, and some acidic notes. The mouthfeel was weak to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was mainly grains with weak hop and metallic notes. Certainly not a beer I would want to drink with any regularity, but not as bad as some other macro lagers either.

Original Review
First Tried in 1987
341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
Not a beer that thrills me. First off.............I have to admit that of Canada's two mega-breweries, I have generally supported Molson. In fact, I've only tried three Labatt products, and all of them were only tried once. Blue, John Labatt Classic, and Labatt Copper (you all remember Labatt Copper don't you? 1995? National campaign which had Copper X and Copper Y and beer drinkers voted which was their favourite? and the winner lasted all of 5 months in beer stores). Anyway, I digress. Blue is supposedly Canada's beer of choice. The aroma was malty, but dissipated quickly. The colour was a very pale yellow with a slight head. The mouthfeel was very watery suggesting that if you enjoy the flavour, you can probably down these by the case. The flavour was nothing to write home about as it too was watery with only slight malt tones. All in all a forgettable beer. |

1285 | Labatt Blue Ice | Canada | Pale Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 473ml can
5.5% ABV
Canned On: September 15, 2019
LCBO Outlet #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Yonge / Eglinton)
October 14, 2019
$2.30
The beer pours a translucent medium gold colour with a huge white frothy head that doesn’t last a long while. The aroma is grains, phenol, earthy hops, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt, with a bitter finish. A little too grainy for me, but not as adjunct tasting as Blue and Blue Light. |

1286 | Labatt Copper | Canada | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 2.0
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 October 1, 1995
Don Cherry’s Restaurant (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
341ml bottle
5.5% ABV
$2.35
This beer was part of a huge national campaign done by Labatt in 1995. They distributed Copper X and Copper Y around the country to various watering holes, and consumers were asked to vote on their favourite. After the winner was declared, the beer lasted all of 5 months on beer store shelves. It was not a big winner. The aroma was metallic in nature and the colour was not all that dark. The taste was rather bland all the way through. A beer that if you blinked, you missed it. |

1287 | Labatt Lucky Lager | Canada | Pale Lager | 1.0
Aroma: 2 | Appearance: 2 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2 July 26, 2008
LCBO Outlet #255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
473ml can
5.00% ABV
Canned On: Unknown
$1.75
This is probably one of the palest beers I have ever seen. It is a very translucent yello with almost no head. The aroma is vomit. The mouthfeel is watery, thin bodied, and highly carbonated (40 minutes after pouring, there is still effervescence in the glass). The taste is very grainy and not much else. Only Milwaukee's Best has been worse. |

The aroma is pine, citrus, and biscuity malts. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour has tropical fruit notes, some definite citrusy hops, and those are rounded out with a nice malt tone. Well balanced flavours, and refreshing. Wish it was a permanent fixture. |
