This beer has a darker colour than I normally like (I prefer golden nectars) and a weak aroma. It went down very smooth however. It felt thick in the mouth, very little carbonation. The flavour was alright, very malty.
March 3, 2008
LCBO Outlet #255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
440ml can
4.30% ABV
Now that I am several months into my beer hobby, I have decided to re-rate some beers that I didn't care for the first time around. The beer poured a beautiful translucent red colour with a thick creamy off-white head. The aroma is still very weak with no discernable odours. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and creamy. The flavour was roasted malt, a little nutty, and a little subtle hoppiness on the back of the tongue. This beer goes down very smoothly (as do a lot of British beers). |

The mouthfeel is very thin and watery, none of the carbonation as seen in the glass. The taste is very reminiscent of North American pale lagers as well.......... |

1260 | Kingsville Brewing Woodrunner | Canada | Stout | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 473ml can
6.7% ABV
Canned On: December 6, 2018
LCBO #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill)
February 7, 2019
$3.25
The beer pours a solid black colour with a generous creamymy chocolate milk coloured head. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. It says barrel aged on the can, but I can’t detect any in the aroma. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation, a bit disappointed it isn’t creamy and more full bodied. The barrel aging can be tasted in the flavour as there is definitely some wood notes on the tongue, very dry wood notes. Not as much coffee in the flavour as the aroma. A decent effort by a small brewer. |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 12oz bottle
5.4% ABV
A gift from a friend who just got back from a wedding in Hawaii. Who would have thought that Passion fruit could be used to flavour a wheat beer? I get the sense that the underlying beer is more of a witbier than an American wheat. The beer pours a hazy yellow topped by a snow-white head. The aroma consist of wheat, spices, and light fruit (Passion I assume). The mouthfeel is medium bodied with mild carbonation. Flavour is slightly sweet, certainly not overpowering. |
