1201 | Insel-Brauerei Insel Kreide | Germany | Witbier | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 750ml bottle
5.60% ABV
Best Before: November 13, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
February 9, 2019
$8.25
The beer pours a slightly hazed honey gold colour with a 1: white bubbly cap supported by a large amount of effervescence. The aroma is more barley than wheat, with herbal hops, some spices, and a definite yeasty note. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, crisp, with average carbonation. The flavour is wheat, some tart fruity notes, and a definite yeasty flavour. Witbiers aren’t my favourite style, and this champagne take on the style didn’t help that opinion any. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500ml bottle
4.5% ABV
The first of three new Scottish beers at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto. I tried this beer on March 20, 2008. The beer poured a blackish-brown with a creamy tan head that lasted throughout. The aroma was roasted malt, some licorice hints, and some hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium carbonation, and some sourness on the sides of the tongue. The flavour was malty, and nutty with continued sourness. |

1203 | Isle of Skye Hebridean Gold | United Kingdom | Bitter | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500ml bottle
4.3% ABV
I tried this beer on April 4, 2008 at “Smokeless Joe’s” in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark translucent gold colour with a fluffy white head that quickly died. The aroma was mainly grassy malt, but there was a hoppish hint. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was also a combination of grainy malt, with some bitter hoppiness thrown in for good measure. Definitely a better beer than both the Red Cuillin and the Black Cuillin. |

1214 | John Labatt Classic | Canada | Lager | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 341ml bottle
5.0% ABV
Bottled On: Unknown
University House Party
February 1, 1992
$1.00
This is an average beer, certainly not a classic. No longer as heavily marketed as it was in the early 90s, but then again, in Canada, it seems only Molson Canadian is marketed to any real extent any more....no more 'Me and the Boys and our 50, me and the boys and our beer'. Anyway, I had this beer in a near frozen state. The beer is a translucent pale gold colour which looks great in a glass. There was very little aroma, but what aroma there was, was slightly malty and pleasant. The mouthfeel was crisp with mild carbonation and the taste was mellow, but not watery in the least. Never really figured out why it was called 'classic' - but it certainly isn't as bad as Blue. |

The aromas of raspberry and lemon overpower what little grain aroma there is. Hops are on the musty side. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is fruit forward with the raspberry coming first followed by the lemon. The grainy malt is in the background but well hidden. There is very little bitterness in the finish. |

The flavour had a nice grapefruit punch with some caramel and grains, but the beer was disappointing over all. |
