Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 16oz draught
5.0% ABV
Bar Hop (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
April 9, 2014
The beer pours a dark brownish black colour with a thin white ring for a head. Aroma is wheat, spices, and fruit cake. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is sweet and slightly tangy for a witbier. Lots of spice in the finish. The dark wheat is a nice touch. |

1178 | Innis & Gunn 15 (2003 - 20018 Barrel Aged Double IPA) | United Kingdom | Imperial IPA | 2.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 330ml bottle
7.4% ABV
Best Before: November 30, 2019
LCBO Outlet #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill)
August 28, 2019
$3.85
The beer pours a translucent dark gold colour, with red hues, and a thin white creamy head that last a while. The predominant aroma is burnt wood and alcohol. I really can’t detect anything else. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is similar to the aroma. I am getting more of a carbonated whiskey flavour than a barrel aged beer flavour. There’s a lot of discussion as to whether this was a DIPA or not. I’ll add ‘is this even beer’ to the discussion. A big disappointment for me from I&G. |

1179 | Innis & Gunn Blonde Lightly Oaked Beer | United Kingdom | English Strong Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330ml
6.0%
I tried this beer on May 14, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a nice translucent reddish-gold with a thin white head. The aroma was grainy malt, wood, and a hint of sourness. The mouthful was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was oak-tinged, grassy with a bitter finish. A good beer. |

1180 | Innis & Gunn Don's Choice | United Kingdom | American Black Ale | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330ml bottle
6.2% ABV
Best Before: October 31, 2019
LCBO Outlet #010 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Summerhill)
September 8, 2019
$3.85
The beer pours a translucent dark mahogany colour with a generous tan coloured head that lasts several minutes and creates a lot of lacing. The aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and dish soap. I don’t detect any citrus, coconut, or rhubarb. So, not a typical Black IPA. Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is more akin to a thin porter/stout as I’m not getting a whole ot of the rhubarb or coconut in this. This isn’t a black IPA to my mind, and not even a fruited stout/porter. Not something I would want to drink regularly. |

1181 | Innis & Gunn Frank and Sense | United Kingdom | Spiced Beer | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500ml bottle
5.80% ABv
Best Before: December 31, 2020
LCBO Outlet #483 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Royal Bank Plaza) December 9, 2019
$7.25
The beer pours a translucent red-tinged gold colour with a thin white ring for a cap. The aroma is citrus, grains, musty hops, and weak tropical notes. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is very IPA like, hop forward with notes of tropical fruit balanced by a malty grassy sweetness and finishing with a strong hoppy bitterness. Not a lot of ‘spice’ in the beer for me/ |

The aroma is citrus, grains, pine, and light yeast. Smells like an old west coast IPA. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is citrus, tea, and grains. The finish is mildly bitter, certainly not overly strong. |

1184 | Innis & Gunn Lager Beer | United Kingdom | Lager | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500ml can
4.6% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
July 26, 2014
The beer pours a translucent shimmering medium gold colour with a generous bubbly white head which lasts less than 10 seconds. The aroma is cereal malt and a hint of earthy hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is a slight lactose sweetness associated with Canadian 'stock' ales, with hints of hops in the mix. I would definitely try this again as a cheap flavourful go-to lager. |

1185 | Innis & Gunn Limited Edition Canadian Cask | United Kingdom | English Strong Ale | 3.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330ml
7.1% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
July 17, 2009
The beer poured a translucent golden brown with red highlights, and a 1" thick foamy white head. Effervescence is apparent. The aroma is slightly sweet, there is a hint of oak, nutty malt, but no signs of whiskey. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour unfortunately has a sour finish to it and has a hint of whiskey. The malt and oak are definitely evident as well. The beer looks great, but the taste doesn't match up in my opinion. |

The aroma is caramel, honey, oak, and some peat. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is heavy on the oak and whisky, and weak on the grains, hops, and caramel. |

1187 | Innis & Gunn Limited Edition Kindred Spirits | United Kingdom | Stout | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330ml bottle
6.1% ABV
Best Before: November 1, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
April 1, 2019
$4.95
The beer pours a very dark brown colour with a generous rocky light brown head which lasts several minutes. The aroma was burnt wood, molasses, whiskey, and roasted malt. The mouthfeel was full bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour lacks the punch of the aroma with notes of roasted malt, some bitter soy sauce notes, dark chocolate, and minor hints of burnt wood and whiskey. While I’m not a fan of in your face barrel aged beers, I do expect there to be some barrel character and this has it, but not enough of it. |

The beer poured a coppery red colour into the glass with a 1 finger creamy white head that dissipated quickly to leave a little trace on top. The smell was rather foul to say the least....almost sour. The mouthfeel is crisp and slightly thick with an idea level of carbonation. The taste is good with some hints of malt and fruit (although I can't place the sweetness off-hand). |

The aroma is very grainy and yeasty with some hints of herbal hops. Nothing in the aroma screams “Belgian”. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. So, while the aroma doesn’t say Belgian, the flavour is reminiscent of a light Belgian tripel. A sweet malt start, followed by light Belgian spiciness, and the definite flavour of a Belgian yeast. It’s a pretty decent beer, but it is still missing that ‘something’ |
