Pours next to black w/ a modest head that dies like Clint Eastwood took it down in a Dirty Harry scene. A thin fluffy ring is all that remains. Smells like cold melted chocolate. Full nectar w/ good carbonation. A moderate roast component drives the ship as the fat malty mocha copilot infuses the staff w/ it’s heavy slop. Moderately sweet w/ justified alcohol that tries to balance but fails miserably leaving green tinged grasses to wash away. The finish is long and sturdy leaving a well understood message with the drinker. This beer is decadent, warming, and overdone. There is a defined alcohol presence that disrupts the balance.

Looks like rosey raspberry juice with a good sized, short lived spattered froth that reduces to a fluffy ring and a silky canopy with a spattered island. Talk about a run-on sentence. Fruity aromatics appeal to my senses. Light to medium nectar weight with good carbontaion. It has a soft almost creamy texture. Flavors of freshly squeezed raspberries and green apples. Throw in a pinch of vanilla cream and kiwi and watch her dance. It’s not concentrated like a New Glarus. It carries itself with a more feminine tone appealing to most anyone with a solid fruit core and a mild tart acidity. Finishing peacefully and balanced. This brew is good.

Pours a dark dingey copper color like an old penny from the 60’s. A tall foamy head persists and sticks like a stubborn muledeer. After some coaxing the head comes down and rests as a thick, downy canopy. Faint dusty candy aromas speak in a Belgian tongue. Medium full nectar w/ ample mellow residual effers. The texture is soft and semi creamy. A full malty body and only mildly sweet w/ flavors of plumby stonefruit, grapes, melon, brown sugar, and gummy bears. Theres a slightly acidic spicey essence that charges through and balances it all out. The finish is bittered well leaving a spicey tingling on my tongue. A solid representation of the style and highly recommended.

When I see these 100/100 beers it makes me wonder. I am not one of those that agree with the general public. I have to see for myself. I can tell you right upfront, this brew is all that. Wow! ............Brew pours close to black w/ a two finger froth. Head retention is good reducing to a full, silky canopy and a thick fluffy ring. The aroma is strong yet airy w/ a defined freshness. It reminds me of putting my head in the chocolate cake batter bowl as a child. Nice! Full nectar w/ ample residual effers that creates a velvety texture that turns to cream as it warms. We’re really getting somewhere folks. Flavor wise this thing hits you hard w/ the cocoa. Theres a defined sweetness but it’s totally balanaced and completely enjoyable. Theres a moderate to strong roast component that throws the decadent cocoa malts into oncoming traffic. Roasted coffee bean, cocoa, iodine, leather, and vanilla. The finish is bittered perfectly w/ roasted nut shells and leaves a lingering cocoa sweetness (although not in the least bit cloying) that sticks around forever. Overall: If there has to be a Baltic Porter that rates 100 this is it. Mega cocoa w/ a balanced roasted sweetness. I highly recommend this to the connoisseur. You can expect to find a small amount of yeast in the bottle.

Pours a copper honey color w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Superb head retention w/ a lasting full lace. Strong aromas of creamy hop chards and meaty caramel. Full nectar w/ mellow residual effers crating a full, rich, creamy texture. This brew is decadent. Mouth watering citrus rind and fat carmel malts play off eachother like a killer handball tourney. A moderate sweetness w/ nuances of popsickle sugars, meaty grapefuit, tangy tropicals, herbs, new leather, and a pinch of sodium. The finsh is long w/ sweet citrus caramel. Watch out Yule Smith. Great balance. Decadent flavor play. Highly recommended.
