SO good. Pours a deep pitch black, and as you pour, the aroma of coffee, toffee and chocolate begin to form. On the nose, you get the same thing, but this time it's much more aromatic and begs to be tasted. Once you do get there... it's everything you expected it to be and more. So smooth on the palate and goes down easy. And, might I add: for a 10% ABV this beer is exceptional in taste. If...and IF your nose is good enough to smell any trace of alcohol upon the aroma of the beer, the tongue may fool you into thinking that there is none, while at the same time, this beer packs a punch! Glad I picked this one up. Definite recommend and will re-visit this one again. Cheers!

My staple German brew. Not thing too special about it; clean, crisp and refreshing. Skunky like the rest of the German lagers, but with a much better taste.

One of my absolute favorite staples at a bar or restaurant. This beer should be defined as Legendary. Wonderful all around: flavorful aroma, beautiful copper color and wonderful taste. A+++! Best thing to ever happen to beer.

First off, I'm rating the DOUBLE Dog, not the Wild Dog. The beer pours a beautiful golden color with a slight red hue and just the right amount of head with lacing on the glass. The aroma is a nice, sweet citrus. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a smooth taste of citrus and hops. Very hoppy, very strong and sits very heavy on the stomach, which means a slow sipping beer for me. Overall, it's a good beer but it just sits a little too heavy for me I think. The balance of taste and body is perfect. I really enjoy the high IBU as well. Oh, and the first Flying Dog beer that I actually enjoy drinking. I'm not even half done with my glass and it already feels like I've been drinking all day ;)

This is the first beer to make me say: "Oh, my God..!". For starters, I just love the Terrapin packaging; very clever if you ask me. OK, so it's cute too! There, I said it! So what? Does that make me less of a man? Not when that cute little turtle is serving up beer that is constantly a hit with me. As soon as the beer leaves the bottle, you almost immediately smell fresh roasted coffee. You'll also notice the beer has the consistency of syrup; to me this only promises a good tasting beer. The aroma is nothing short of fresh brewed coffee, chocolate chips and hints of caramel. The taste is even better, with the chocolate and caramel emphasized this go around. Smooth finish, with barely any trace of alcohol. The mouthfeel is a bit dry, but that won't stop you at all from taking another sip/drink/chug. Also, leaves hardly any lacing on the glass, which is surprising considering the body of the beer. This beer hands down, knocks my favorite beer out of it's #1 rank down to #2, leaving Terrapin Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Stout to take the prize as First. God Bless you, you cute little turtle, you... God Bless You! Oh, and I almost forgot: The 4 pack I bought is out of it's FRESHNESS DATE! -That's saying a lot now, isn't it?
