Drank some Mill Street DH Pale Ale
An old school APA with not crazy hops, some caramel malts, lots of cereal grains and some wheat notes. Happy Independence Day !

500ml bottle from the Ottawa brewpub. Pours a slight hazed amber colour with a golden hue. The head is lightly warm off-white, creamy, frothy, with great retention, leaving some creamy lacing. Caramel malt nose with some cereal notes. The taste is very cereal-like with again, the mild caramel in the back ground. The wheat in this one give hints of bananas. Kind of feels like a cream ale, but an APA with a touch of caramel and some cereal grains. Not super hoppy, but fine. Light grassy, light dry finish.

This was an old favourite back in the day when it was still brewed. The pour was slightly hazy, and an orange hued gold color. The aroma was dominated by pumpkin pie spices with hints of buscuity malts and yeast. Mouthfeel was thin to average. Flavour was pumpkin pie with alcohol.

The beer pours a clear pale gold color, the head is white, thin, yet foamy. lacing is good. The nose is light citrus, cereal malt, and weak spicy rye hints. Mouthfeel is average. Flavor is very well balanced between the lemony citrus and the spicy rye. An excellent beer.

I never understood why meads have such a high price tag because most of them are undrinkable. The pour is dark gold with amber highlights. No head. The nose is sugar and alcohol. Mouthfeel is full. Flavor is alcohol and sugar. I guess these aren't my bag.

A beautiful solid black pour topped with a creamy light tan head that sticks to the sides of the glass. The nose is roasted malt, come coffee, and hints of caramel and vanilla. Mouthfeel is average. Flavor is roasted malt and vanilla, with a nice bitter finish.

Thus may be the darkest 'dry stout' I've ever seen. It truly pours black. The head is creamy, light brown, and sticks to the glass on the way down the hatch. The nose is roasted malt, nuts, and coffee. Mouthfeel is average. Flavor is roasted malt and the finish is very bitter.

Part of a back to back challenge with the Brooklyn version. The pour is a turbid golden-orange color with a huge pillowy white head that lingers. The nose is fruity with wheat, bubble gum, light citrus, and yeast. Muothfeel is average, slippery. The flavor is sweet wheat malt, and some yeast notes. Definitely the better of the two versions
