Of the following US breweries which is your favorite? (Part III)

-Allagash
-Cigar City
-Green Flash
-Jolly Pumpkin
-Ommegang
-Sierra Nevada
-Smuttynose
-Surly

Part III in the poll asking the simple question of what is your favorite US brewery? For such a simple and obvious type question it is sometimes hard to decide (unlike maybe whether to drink a beer with bugs in it). So of this group which is your favorite?

Again. Going by consistency and availability. Sierra Nevada has never let me down.

I've never seen a Cigar City beer, and only one other brewery from Florida. Looks like most of their beers only have a couple reviews. I've also never had a Surly or Jolly Pumpkin.

You'll be able to get JP in Portland.

Out of all of those, only Allagash, Jolly Pumpkin, and Sierra Neveda are available.....and with Jolly Pumpkin and Allagash being $40+ a bottle............that leaves Sierra Nevada.

Smuttynose TRUTH
Solid line up of regulars, but their Big Beer Series is a whole lotta special sprinkled throughout the year. And their prices are some of the most reasonable around for the quality you get.

Indeed. SN is such a solid brewery and they are available everywhere.

Ommegang gets my vote.

Not had JP in years. Surly and SN are both solid, but I have yet to be blown away. Allagash is too pricey. Not had enough Cigar City to judge.

Agree 100%. Sierra Nevada. Although Green Flash makes it very, very difficult.

When doing the final list I said to myself "Wait Sierra Nevada" It is so easy to forget the great breweries that have wide spread distribution. Sierra Nevada is right up there with the Bells, Stones, etc of the world. [:D]

Jolly Pumpkin, followed by Surly, then Cigar City ... Sierra Nevada is to plain jane for me (but wonderfully consistent)
