At this time the port of Baltimore was still young and many prominent merchants lived near the wharves close to their business. By the mid nineteenth century the port grew, and as it did, the block began to commercialize. In the late 1940’s this building was acquired by the Pratt Furniture Company and remained so until 1980 when it then became P.J. Cricketts. In 1992 the Oliver’s took over P.J. Cricketts, which then became the Wharf Rat. The Brewery was added in 1993, and has continued to create award winning ales ever since, making Oliver Breweries Baltimore’s oldest running brewpub. What was once P.J. Cricketts then the Wharf Rat now has a new face as the Pratt Street Ale House, an American style restaurant with an English twist. But don’t worry PSA is still offering its famous Oliver Ales and your favorite Maryland classics! The Ale House is a place where anyone can feel welcome and enjoy a good meal and beer in a comfortable casual atmosphere. But don’t forget our 25 HDTV’s, three bars, two private rooms and outdoor patio! With our friendly and experienced staff your visit to Pratt Street Ale House is guaranteed to be unforgettable.
