Who is this mysterious David MacArthur guy that owns Chardon BrewWorks & Eatery?!? Well, David is a mythical character (kind of like Pink Floyd or Jethro Tull!) created from an amalgamation the owners’ fathers’ names. Mike and Donna Nedrow, the owners of Chardon BrewWorks & Eatery wanted to honor their fathers, in some way, when they decided to embark on this venture. Mike’s father, David Nedrow, Donna’s father , John “Mac” McGrath and Mike’s Stepfather, Arthur Downes III, now deceased, were all hard-working men who devoted themselves to their families to try to better their childrens’ lives and give them opportunities that they, themselves, did not necessarily have. Additionally, these men liked to drink beer! It was only natural to name the Corporation after these men who shaped Mike and Donna's lives! Owners, Mike and Donna Nedrow, have enjoyed homebrewed beer in their house for the last fifteen years. Mike began brewing on his stovetop in 1995 with his fist batch, a hefeweizen, which he named “Donna Do Ya Wanna” Hefeweizen! This has been a mainstay in their home ever since and is one of our featured beers on tap, using essentially the same recipe and Mount Hood hops as the original recipe! Mike and Donna have enjoyed making and drinking their own beer so much that they decided to bring it to the masses! Mike, a professional pilot by trade, and Donna, a Registered Nurse, decided that they wanted to bring an establishment to Chardon in the vain of the historical public house (pub) as known throughout history. The public house has served, over the centuries, as a meeting place for the community where people could go, relax, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy good food and drink. It was only second to the local house of worship in its significance to the community as a place for people to convene in fellowship. This is the type of establishment we would like to create for Chardon. We hope that you enjoy your time with us! CHEERS!
