I'm a little late getting into the pumpkin beer craze and this is one of the first I've tried. I must say I was expecting more pumpkin pie in the aroma. I only catch a bit of pumpkin and spice in the finish. Prior to that, it seems like a malty, yeasty lager.

The spice was very overwhelming in this one - in the aroma and flavor. While I've come to enjoy a pumpkin ale with some spiciness to it, this one got a little carried a way. Pours a nice aronage with a white cap and medium bodied. Too intensely spiced; they could tone that down a bit and have a real winner.

Really starting to like the pumpkin ales, especially this time of the year. Dark orange pour with a small white head. Nice lacing on the glass, aroma of malts, pumpkin pie spices. Flavor is of pumpkin pie and a little malt, Very enjoyable!

Another pumpkin beer brought back by the parents from their last trip to the States. 12 oz brown bottle, (simple black label with an orange jack-o-lantern). Pours an orange / amber brown color with a white and creamy head. Short stack of foam that shrinks, leaving little lacing. It has the expected pumpkin and spice smell, some nutmeg and cinnamon. No overpowering flavors, very subtle punkin and spiciness in the taste. More malt than anything, pretty well balanced. Light to medium-bodied beer, good carbonation level. Good enough, slightly above average example.

Bottle courtesy of Northyorksammy: Poured a light yellow/redish color ale with a big foamy head with average retention but good lacing. Aroma of cinnamon and cloves is about medium with some light pumpkin. Taste of cinnamon and cloves dominated the taste and was well balance with some light pumpkin. Light body with some good carbonation. Overall, I thought this was a well done pumpkin beer but probably not up to par with the Weyerbacher one which I still think is the best of the style.

amber color and light bodied. light head and almost no lacing. aroma strong in pumpkin spice and is very pleasing. taste is malty and pumpkin spice as well and after taste is very moiste and leaves you wanting more. I like this seasonal but wouldn't drink more than one or two in a night.

This beer is amber in color with a light head - nothing special in the appearance category. The nose was full of pumpkin and spice (clove and cinnamon) and very pleasing, lasting throughout the tasting. Cinnamon and pumpkin notes were strong in the taste and finish. This particular bottle graded very well and was easily the best of the 12 bottles I purchased. There seemed to be a bit of a consistency problem and the fault with some of the other bottles that stood out was light mouthfeel and watered down flavor. When it was good it was very good, but more often than not it was lacking.

I had a 12 oz bottle while touring the brewery. Poured a very murky goopy, orange. It looked just like a can of Libby's pumpkin. The clove was the dominate feature, but the other spices where very presant. Very fizzy in my mouth.

I like this pumpkin ale, first of all its good when a pumpkin beer is want you want. I'd like one with more pumpkin, more malt and a little less spice than this one. On the pour, seemed a little undercarbed, and came out pumpkin pie colored burnt sienna (thanks, crayola). Nose of light pumpkin pie and malt. Some yeasty breadyness (the crust!). I'll have to find a food to really pair this up with...a caramel and fudge sundae perhaps. Far better than Blue Moon's offering, but there's still room for improvement in the sub genre. RERATE: Since sampling multiple vintages and more Pumpkin ales my respect for the balance shown by these fellas is nothing less than top notch. The right usage of the house yeast, spice and squash to hit their target nicely.
