Maduro Porter is a dark chocolatey ale in the tradition of robust porters. The malt bill includes 2-row pale malt, crystal malts, chocolate malts, and a small portion of black malt for deep black color. This porter is generously hopped with Willamette and Spalter for floral/spicy notes to complement the malty undertones.

A fairly interesting beer from the brewers at Coast Range. While I do enjoy some of their beers, it seems their porters I can do without. Like the Stone Fence Porter in the Farmhouse series, this had an overly ashy/charcoal taste. Maybe I'm overly sensitive to this unpleasant flavor, but this beer has enough of it to make it barely drinkable. The nose and appearance are both really nice. A rich, toffee, coffee, tobacco leaf and sweet malt nose. Body is black in color with a creamy beige head. Flavor had that unappealing overly roasted malts buries the underlying coffee/chocolate aroma. Eh.

Honestly dont think much of this beer. Its a one and done beer. I just couldnt have another and having trouble finishing this one. Its very chocolately but an incredibly harsh mouthfeel. Worth a try i guess, and a good porter, but a harsh beer.

Dark brown with a small beige head. Dark chocolate in aroma, notes of caramel roastiness and vegetables. Chocolate, vanilla and coffeebeans in flavour with a hard mouthfeel. Cocoa, chocolatesauce and hops in the aftertaste.

Bottled. Black coloured, small brown head. Roasted malt in faroma. Veautiful flavour of smoke, roasted malt, coffee and caramel. Long aftertaste if roasted malt and caramel. Very smooth and easy-to-drink, though being kind of complex.

Eclipse black color. Small head. Aroma is chocolate and then coffee. A medium bodied porter. Malts are chocolate and very strongly roasted coffee. Slightly bitter hops. Mostly chocolate flavors that give way to big roasty coffee flavors. Nice smooth taste. Nice balance. Very decent porter. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter coffee.

This porter pours with a black body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. The aroma and flavor are slightly sweet and malty with a nice bitter roastiness and a slight hop note in the finish. Full bodied, smooth and slightly dry.
