Idiot Rock, a popular fishing hole near Smithers, is a favorite for local Salmon fishers. So popular that the name may be a reference to the crowds of people lining up to dangle a hook in the Bulkley River for the chance to land a Salmon. Our Idiot Rock IPA is modeled after the American variety of this traditional British beer style. Brewed with a plenitude of hops, this beer was originally made to last the long journey from England to India without spoiling. Today, the hops are all about taste. Being dry-hopped, this beer has a flowery aroma and a citrus-like taste making it a great match to a spicy curry or perhaps that barbecued salmon you just caught.

From Brewery Creek, in a one-litre swing-top. Cloudy dark orange with a minimal white head. Aroma had some hop with a suggestion of citrus. Flavour was hops and grapefruit, and the grapefruit again at the finish. Mouthfeel started thin but toughened up as we progressed. Not a memorable beer by any means, and at about $10, overpriced. I can get the superior Central City Devil's Elbow for at least $2.50 less for the same size, plus it is more widely available.
