Inside every well-made beer is an animal that represents it. A spirit animal, if you will. Crouching below the surface, hidden in the bubbles, prowling in the tang of the yeast of the spirit animal is a wolf. Wild and untamed, this sour ale echoes a time when beer was fermented in the open air under the moonlight. Spirit Animal is aged on toasted French oak and rose hips. Pours hazy golden with a fairly thick pale buff head. Aroma has orange, banana and pear notes atop hints of malt and yeast. Flavor is definitely sour - and wild. Orange, lemon, banana, yeast and malt parade across the palate. Firm texture and lively fizz lead to a nice fruity finish. Unleash your spirit animal!
