Pours a thick huge frothy head that sticks around for a bit. Leaves some pretty dirty lacing. Has a coppery appearance with red hues. Aromas are mainly maple, it's at the forefront for sure as well as some hints of caramel and pine scents. Flavours are strongly maple influenced, obviously. Finds a pretty good balance between their crystal malts and hops. Notes of barley in the mix as well as sweets and some spices, but fairly faint. Also just a bit of toffee, but just barely. Has a prickly bitter mouthfeel and becomes sweeter in the finish. Great tasting and well balanced.

Came in a 12-pack called "La grande sélection" which says "special edition" with 3 of their other brews (meaning only 3 of these maple brews). Pours a clean copper colour with a big frothy beige head that lasts very long and the lacing is good. Big sweet maple nose with hints of nuts. Thankfully, the full sweetness does not carry through to the taste. Very well-balanced between the malt, maple and mild hop that shows up in the finish, just adding a little dryness. The nutty notes appears in the aftertaste, so kind of a brown nut ale with maple syrup added. Nicely blended and much better (and truer to the maple) than the Mill Street Spring Thaw maple I just had a few days ago.
